802.11ac devices sitting around?

Forums:

All,  I think I have extended channels working for 802.11ac devices up to 184, but no devices to test with (beyond an hap AC lite).   Here are some of the devices I'm looking to get my hands on to get this working (I need 2 to test end to end) for core long distant link devices.   If you have any of these to send and loan out, to get AREDN working on an 802.11ac device, please contact me:

RB921GS-5HPacD-15S  (Mikrotik mAntBox)
RB911G-5HPacD-NB  (Mikrotik NetBox)

Nanostation M2 (XM) stuck at 3.19.3.0 - Upgrading "bricks" it

Forums:

Unit works, but can't seem to upgrade one of my M2s past 3.19.3.0

I have two (seemingly) identical Nanostation M2 (XM) units (as well as other units). One M2 upgraded fine to 3.20.XX and then recently to 3.22.XX without problems. The other one will not. When I upgrade via the Aredn GUI, it reboots and eventually gets to state with the power LED on and a very slow red flash only (left strength LED). Noting works at that point. I must use TFTP to revert back to AirOS 5.6.16, then I can load the 3.19.3.0 factory bin.

Ubiquiti Rocket M5 availability

Forums:
I'm hunting down a couple more Rocket M5s to complete my mesh system build out.  I have noticed that Rocket M5s have gotten much harder to find, and I have seen one comment that they have been discontinued.

Can anyone confirm if the Rocket M5 is still in production or end-of-life?  Is there a plan or intent to support another version of the Ubiquiti Rocket so there's continuity with the installed base of Ubiquiti Rocket M5-compatible antennas?

Thank you, and my complements for the excellent firmware work!

Support for integrated MikroTik sector nodes mANTBox 19s or other sectors?

Forums:
Greetings:
AREDN-supported Ubiquity Rocket M5 radios are becoming harder and to find, making it harder and harder to use them in Ubiquity sectors, which are designed to hold and cover the node against the back of the antenna.

Ubiquiti Rocket M5 Titanium w/ GPS

Forums:

I recently replaced the Rocket M2 in my mobile rover (truck) with an M5 Titanium as we are converting our network to 5 GHz. This node has the availability for GPS and has an external GPS antenna which I stuck on the roof of the truck. I access the node with an Apple iPad. (works quite well!)

My question is this, will the AREDN software utilize this feature in it's firmware and use that information to update my lat/lon location of my mobile unit? Will the firmware be able to access the GPS information for anything? I know Ubiquiti makes a standard M5 that also has GPS.

GL.iNet Collie (GL-X300B) 4G LTE Wireless Gateway

Forums:
Greetings everyone,

Has anyone had any experience with the GL.iNet Collie (GL-X300B-GPS or GL-X300B-BLE)?  I just purchased one, and was curious if AREDN would run directly on it. I've got the GPS version, and plan on using it on the road with T-Mobile.

Sadly, their 4G/5G version (GL-X300 Spitz AX) isn't out yet. For my upcoming road trip this week, I'll use it as designed, and just plug one of my AREDN GL750's or hAP ac lites into it.

CPE710 channels wrong

Forums:
I just flashed the latest nightly build for the CPE710 and the channel selection has an issue. Originally I tested the CPE710 with my shop unit on channel 180 which is a NanoStaion M5 and it connected OK.  I then changed the  channels on both nodes to 146.  The units would not connect.  I did a WIFI scan on the CPE710, and it shows itself at channel 149, and likewise a scan on the NanoStation indicates  the CPE710 is channel 149.  Coincidentally, the default channel after the initial programming was 149.

Findiding Source of Packages

Forums:
In the past, I have been successful in downloading packages via the AREDN mesh network as there has been an internet connection available on the network which I assume can reach the AREDN package server.  In the ADMIN page, I've been able to click the REFRESH button next to DOWNLOAD PACKAGE and all the packages would download successfully.  Then I would choose SNMPD from the DOWNLOAD PACKAGE list then click the DOWNLOAD button.  I would confirm that the package was now listed in the REMOVE PACKAGE list and all is good.
