NanoStation M5 XW won't save config

Forums:
Just successfully flashed a NanoStation M5 XW, change NOCALL-132-88-175 to KC7ZDM-NANOSTN-06, enter the password (twice), change the distance parameter, select the 13 host direct option, click Save Changes and the page instantly goes away and displays This site can't be reached. The node does not reboot. When I go back to access localnode:8080 all the parameters are back the way they were.

Any ideas on what's happening? This is the factory edition, haven't had a chance to upgrade yet. The firmware I applied was AREDN-3.16.1.1-ubnt-nano-m-xw-squashfs-factory.bin.

iPerf (and iPerfSpeed)

Forums:
I searched and didn't see anything regarding what I'm about to ask. Also, I'm really not sure if this should be posted here or to Deployment. I think here is probably more appropriate, anyway...

I've just updated a couple of my nodes to the latest firmware and in the process added iPerf and iPerfSpeed. When I ran iPerfSpeed between these two nodes in either direction, I get a "connection Refused" message. This is the first time I've run into this from lots of installs of iPerf and iPerfSpeed on dozens of nodes in our network.

M2 Rocket Upgrade Problem

Nanostation failure?

Forums:
After being deployed about a year, a Nanostation M2 went off the air.  When power is applied, only the power LED illuminates.  When a computer is connected via ethernet, the LAN1 LED starts showing activity, but no IP address is issued and there's no response to localnode:8080 or 192.168.1.1 or .20

I tried holding reset for 15 seconds - no change.

Any ideas?

Wifi booster?

Forums:

Would this be legal or desirable on the output of say a 2g Rocket or similar?

I'm pretty sure I'll receive negative responses, but I'm curious to hear what they are.

Thanks!

TP-Link vs Lcom 15dbi Omni Antennas

Forums:
The TP-link antenna is held to its base by only some feeble glue.
I have now had 2 of them fail, by pulling loose from the base.
It MIGHT be possible to repair them, by taking the innards completely out of the tube,
straightening everything out, and carefully putting it back in the tube.
And using superglue.
The Lcom is much more rugged.  The TP-link is less expensive.
But strangely the Lcom is a lot shorter than the TP-link, so how can it have the same gain?

Cisco Switch Configuration for 2940, 2950, 2960, etc.

I decided to go with a Cisco switch even though I have a Netgear 108E already. After trying to do a custom setup, on the Netgear I found the GUI to be clunky and cumbersome as it can get. So went ahead and configured my station's Cisco 2950 24 port for my AREDN setup(work in progress). I figured that there might be a lot of people that will not try a Cisco switch due to the CLI. So here is a "copy and paste" configuration to ease the pain.

M5 XW Help

Forums:
Trying to connect a NanoM5 XW to a GS105E switch and have a useable gateway to the internet (emergencies only). The switch is configured for 3 nodes and 1 wan port. I have connected the switch to the "main" port of the Nano and it sees the computer and other devices but no internet  I have connected the switch to the "secondary" port and it will not see the computer or other devices. Any suggestions????

determining XM or XW after reflash ?

Forums:

I ran across a NanoStation that I had already reflashed... but forgotten about.

Is there a way to determine what circuit board version it is - now that it has the AREDN firmware?

trouble connecting to node status page via toughswitch

Happy December!

i've set up my toughswitch for 2 nodes (A/NBM3 on port 1;LANs on ports 2/3; B/ARHP on port 4:LAN on port 5)

when i connect my iMac's ethernet to port 5, it does not receive a 10.x.x.x address from the ARHP, but instead self-assigns to a 169.x.x.x address.  any thoughts on what i've misconfigured?
