camera issue

Forums:
So, we are having an issue seeing a camera on a remote node, using Blue Iris.  Local setup works fine but if a neighbor, using same setup as local , tries to open camera in BI it can not find it.  Cam is setup as advertised, linked service on local node.  Any ideas?

HELP: Newby is Stuck Uploading AREDN Firmware to NanoStation M5

Forums:
Followed instructions on the AREDN web site and an excellent video --  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sArLQ6zbiWs -- to downgrade Ubiuiti NS M5 airOS to 5.6.x. Got two green GOOD GOOD. All worked fine. Uploaded the AREDN firmware. That too, A-OK. The IP changed as explained from 192.168.1.20 to DHCP from the mesh node. Sought  http://localnode:8080 and, thump, it cannot be found. The M5 shows power green light.

M2 and M5 on a Station Router - Newby Help

Forums:
AREDN wizards, I worked through software installation on an M2 and M5 over SIX HOURS as a newby with the web site instructiopmns. Instructions really need to be updated for Windows 10, and please, thank you for the step--by-step screen grabs, but they are barely legible on Explorer, Chrome for Windows and Safari for Mac. They are tiny, nbot full screen size, and not legible when zoomed in to redable size. End of my rant. Really made it more difficult than it should be.

surge protectors

Forums:

I have noticed that, when it comes to grounding, everyone has an idea. Some people say to put a protector at the top near the node. Others say at the bottom and others say on the top and bottom. Some say they use none. What is the logical setup? Thanks ahead. I will follow your advice.

Network problem with AirGateway and PB5-400

Forums:

This may be the wrong subforum.  If so apologies.

While connected to AirGateway wifi via wifi dongle (and his wired Ethernet disabled) a ham can access his Mesh Node, and other nodes and use his Mesh phone.  But his Internet speed is extremely slow - it is coming through the mesh!

When not  connected to the AirGateway, (Ethernet enabled) his Internet is great, but obviously, no mesh.

Ubiquiti Issues with PoE, EdgeSwitch

The UBNT EdgeSwitch 24 250W and probably a number of other devices have a problem: the PoE+ negotiation is set to "on" by default, requiring a change to the 24V-passive mode in order to power some of their devices.

That's all fine and dandy, but the PoE+ "detection" signaling triggers the PoE "protection" circuit on some devices, like older UAP-AC-LITEs, among others. Once the PoE "protection" has been triggered, the device is *dead*.

Rocket M2 LAN port dead?

Forums:
I have a Rocket M2 that powers up, and other nodes see it and talk to it, but the LAN port is apparently completely dead. The switch doesn't see any traffic at all on the wire.

Fried Atheros? Ideas?

Update to v3.16.1.1 broke my AirRouter

Forums:

So, as the subject says. I have an AirRouter I use at home with the Wan port that gets me on the internet. My PC is connected to the AirRouter via Ethernet Cable. The AirRouter was running v3.16.1.0.
