Wireless AP Into Node

Forums:
Trying to connect a WRT54 with DD-WRT firmware to a node to allow regular wired/wireless laptops, etc. access but don't seem to have any luck.
All I can seem to find is this thread (reply 3-4) : http://www.aredn.org/content/can-wrt54g-do-vlan-switching
I've tried putting it into the LAN port, but I'm not getting anywhere.

Must be a setting somewhere I need to change, but apparently my networking knowledge isn't enough to get it going.

Cheers.

AirGrid AG-HP-2G20??

Forums:

Am I reading the Supported Platform Matrix correctly in that there is no 2.4 AirGrid XW listed?

What does that mean for the AG-HP-2G20?  I'm guessing it's not supported, but I'm not sure.  Please clarify.

Thanks much!

NanoStation M900

Is the NanoStation M900 supported? Is it the same radio as the M9? Looking at one online.

New Hardware (PC Engines APU2)

Forums:
I have sat here a PC Engines APU2 http://www.pcengines.ch/apu2.htm (actually an APU3A4) and whilst wondering what to do with it, I noticed that its on the firmware list for most linux distros, and coming with a wan port and two lan ports made me think, has anyone had a play with these devices. The one I have I am considering installing asterisk on and sticking a backup 3g sim in it.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Ubiquiti Bullet M5

Forums:
I have a Ubiquiti Bullet M5 with stock UBNT firmware. I have a 7dbi omni antenna that I know works. The unit will does not transmit, at least according to my 5.8 GHz-capable tablet. I upgraded to the latest 5.5.x UBNT firmware and I got a signal from it for about 15 seconds then it was gone.

Is the unit bad or flaky? I've had it for some time but this is the first time I've connected it up and tested it. The other question is would putting the Aredn firmware correct the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Can I use a GS105E with multiple nodes (not at the same time)?

I'm relatively new to mesh, and have been acquiring equipment. I have several Ubiquiti nodes flashed and am now turning my attention to the GS105E switch. I have two of them, and four nodes that I could use them with depending on circumstances such as the needs of an event or ARES activation.

I've been told that the AREDN software has an algorithm that calculates the IP addresses any given node can assign based on it's MAC address, and that this is to prevent IP collisions between nodes. Makes perfect sense to me.

any word on when a flash might be available for the XW?

Odd POE Failure

Forums:
My nanostation with a Ubiquiti 24V POE failed strangely.  Its rightmost light fluttered rapidly, and the node did not respond to the PC.
I tried another nanostation. Same thing.
I changed the ethernet cables. Same thing.
In desperation I changed the POE. Voila both nanostations came to life. One of them had reverted to default settings.
So I will throw out the bad POE.  Does this happen often?
