Two WAN ports?

Perhaps this is a silly question, but my VLAN skills are still developing...So, here's what I'm trying to do:

I have a commercial video system (all 12V) that can stream multiple camera views, and allows multiple simultaneous connections (it uses their proprietary software unfortunately).  I'd like that stream to be available on both the internet (WAN) and AREDN LAN.  My GS105E has an open port, but my modem does not.

Nanostation M5 upgrade from HSMM to AREDN issue

Forums:
I was doing an upgrade from HSMM 3.1.0 on a Ubiquiti nano station loco M5 to AREDN and now the node doesn't have a wifi or Lan IP address all I can get is a WAN and gateway IP being picket up from internet router.

It is showing the AREDN software logo but can't ping but occasionally can connect to web gui but not allowing to go into any menus

Point to point (yagi vs. parabolic dish vs. grid dish)

Forums:
Anyone have a comment on which would be better for a highly directional link? Say I'm going to use a Rocket radio for instance with an external antenna.

I have the following yagi from a different project: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-4GHz-20dBi-Yagi-802-11b-g-WiFi-Antenna-RP-SMA-...

It is said to be 20 dbi gain.

dtd linking with non-vlan switch

Forums:

Hello,

On http://www.aredn.org/content/device-device-linking-dtdlink, for linking three devices with a non-vlan switch, the graphic shows two of the nodes labeled in ref "DHCP: DISABLED" but at the bottom of the graphic it says "CAUTION: Do not disable DHCP on all nodes".

Linux?

Forums:
What flavor of linux is used on AREDN firmware? I can't seem to find this information anywhere.

I'm running Collectd server on an Ubuntu box connected to my QTH node. It would be nice if I could install a client on the node.

WAN IP Address

Forums:
I have a Toughswitch 5 configured for three DtD nodes, 1 lan, and one WAN. Port 1 has a nanostation M2 XM as a WAN Gateway, Port 2 is LAN for port 1 with a Raspberry PI running Asterisk attached. Port 3 has a Nanobridge M5 attached, Port 4 is an AR with two webservers, VOiP phone, AP, and a couple Raspberry Pis attached. This node is configured for 13 DHCP addresses. Port 5 is my WAN port.

POE

Forums:
I want to run my nanostation from a battery supply for portable use. I see from the documentation that it uses passive POE and should be happy with 10.5 through to 25Vdc at the port, so as long as the ethernet lead is short I should be able to poke 12v up the right wires and all should work. I wonder if there is a preferred way to do this more elegantly. Is a current limiting circuit recommended? or is a 1A fuse protection enough? I wonder what others have done and are there any good or more importantly bad experiences with this.

Airrouter Type

Forums:

I went to the Flytec website (www.flyteccomputers.com) to buy some new airrouters. When I searched for them, two hits came back, one called a "US" version:

http://flyteccomputers.com/product/20799/Ubiquiti-AirRouter-US-80211gn-SOHO-Wireless-Router-4-port-USB-150Mbps-100m-AirOS

and the other had no mention of being a US version:

AMO-2G13 continuity readings?

Forums:
Hello all,

I think I might have a bad AMO-2G13 omni antenna.  I've disconnected the cables.  Reading the continuity between ground and center pin on the vertical polarity connector, I read a dead short.  On the horizontal polarity side, I read an open... is this the normal condition?  Does anyone have one handy that they can check for me?

Has anyone opened up one of these antennas and have pictures of the elements that they could post?  Just wondering what this beast looks like inside.

Flashing instructions on....

I'm flashing an AirRouter AR but I first downgraded from 5.6.2 XM to 5.5.11 XM. That went fine.
