SWR

Forums:

Most of the antennas I've seen advertised have 5.875 Ghz as the upper end of efficiency.

Has anyone done any testing on 5.9 Ghz (channel 180) to see what effect there might be on SWR?  Are there any suggested antennas that appear to have a wider bandwidth for the upper channels?

Recovering an AirRouterHP?

So I was setting up an AirRouterHP, got AREDN loaded up just fine.  I was messing around with getting it configured, and apparently got it into a "mesh access point" mode ( I can't remember the exact wording - but it's on the drop-down list under the basic setup window).  The exact selection was listed as being deprecated in a future release, if that helps.  Now it does function when I connect a node to the AirRouter - as it's supposed to I think.

NAS for MESH

Forums:
All,

I am trying to set up a NAS for use across our Mesh.  I have set up a NAS on a Raspberry Pi using a Pi project source, and have added the Pi to my switch.  I see the Pi and the NAS locally but others on the mesh can not see or access it.  Any ideas?

Thanks

Rocket M2 GPS Use in AREDN

Forums:

I acquired an old (2011 or so) UBNT Rocket M2 GPS radio.  I could see its Node Status screen, but could not access Setup (I did not have the password).  The radio acted like it was working in the WiFi band (I could see my local WiFi and others on channels 1, 6, and 11).  I was not successful in restoring factory defaults.  I forced the radio to a state where I could TFTP to it, and appeared to load it successfully with XM V.5.5.11.  When I first logged in, the country list had many countries, not just the three that show in the new radios.

NanoBridge NBM5-25 'Bad Gateway'

Forums:

I'm trying to resurrect a NanoBridge NBM5-25 I was given, I have no idea how it was set up originally. I couldn't get it to load a ubnt or AREDN gui page. I could force a static IP address on it and ping it, and it does go into tft mode which was promising, so I unsuccessfully tried loading AirOS 5.11. U-Boot Tester showed good/good so I uploaded AREDN 3.16 (Bullet - factory). I initially got the setup NOCALL page but when I tried to save it it said 'invalid lan IP' and wouldn't let me reboot, only quit.

I have been using a couple of Linksys SWR224 switches for years at home.

AirRouter Discontinued?

Forums:
I just saw a post from one of our followers an one of our Facebook pages that the AirRouter may be discontinued by UBNT? It's not to be found on their product pages.  Any rumblings of a replacement if this is true?

NBM365 compatibility?

Forums:
I see cheap NanoBridge M365 units on eBay all the time. I'm assuming that they're surplus/used CPE from a WISP. Has anyone done any analysis on these units to see if they're compatible/flashable with the system?

want to add airRouter to connect internet to local aredn node

Forums:

I am trying to use ubiquiti gear to set up a local aredn node & am trying to see if I could see all the pieces from a laptop. I have cable modem from a local ISP. Then I have a wifi extender NETGEAR AC750 WiFi Range Extender(EX6100) in my garage. I was hoping to be able to connect the airRouter & an airGateway to the Ethernet port of the extender and see the airRouter with a browser.

NanoStation XW & DTD (single cable method)

Forums:

I started this new thread - since my last one improperly blamed the AirRouter as the troublemaker.

Note: this specifically addresses those with concerns about feeding power into the Nano XW backwards - into the Secondary jack (trying to use just one ethernet cable during DTD applications).
