AirRouter with a USB jack, aredn support it?

My new Ubiquity AirRouter has a USB outlet on it, the Ubiquity docs say "for future use".  Will the aredn sw support it, maybe for thrumbdrives with "services" web pages and such?

Will it Work, Ubiquiti Rocket M2

Forums:
Hello all, just to introduce myself. My name is Aaron KC0WKP, I live in Baraboo, WI. We are looking into building several nodes in the area of Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells. I have been looking into different hardware and I have been looking at getting the Rocket. I noticed in the product compatibility matrix that there is some hardware that is not supported. I did not see the M2 under the unsupported hardware matrix. So my question is, does the the new hardware apply to the M2?

Thanks

LAN VS WAN

Forums:
We are setting up our first node and we have connections, we are just having difficulty with the devices DHCP. Right now WAN is disabled with the LAN gateway set to the router IP. This is allowing the Node onto the internet, however our Bullet will connect to the node but will not acquire an address and is unable to access the internet. The Mesh gateway checkbox is checked.

Current Setup

Cab I replacing a Bullet-GS108 with an AirRouterHP ???

Hey, hope this lands in the right forum.

I've currently got a setup with a bullet mounted on my roof, running into a configured GS-108 switch.  My bullet seems to be very inconsistent - resetting and not staying on the air, etc.  Unfortunately there isn't much chance I can get to the bullet to service it.

My GS-108 is programmed up with 1 Node port, 5 LAN ports and 2 WAN ports.

Could I substitute an AirRouterHP, which I already have, for the bullet, and if so how would I connect it up and not cause a network loop?

Using a GL-AR150 router running OpenWRT as "advertised service" web page server

Forums:

Found an off-the-shelf box that I used as a web site server to the AREDN network.
At the risk of sounding like a paid advertisement (I'm only a happy user, no other connection or being paid). laugh

XM vs XW

Forums:
We are setting up a 5ghz link between a Nano and a Loco.  Since there is no support yet for Loco XW I am wondering if anyone has a source for the XM units, used or new.  Seems you are rolling the dice by buying off Amazon, Walmart, etc.
Any help appreciated.

Horizontal vs Dual-Polarized Sectors

Forums:
We are getting are mesh going and we have been given about 20 120 degree Horizontally polarized sectors. I am just wondering what the pros and cons are for these.
I was looking at the Ubiquiti Dual-polarized sectors, but is there any benefit when using them on the mesh network over the Horizontally polarized?
Also I am wondering if there would be any interference issues by putting 2-3 on water towers to provide 2.4 AREDN coverage?

Thanks

XW nanostation dtd on secondary port

Forums:
I just got a nanostation M5. It turned out to be an XW model. I flashed it with AREDN 3.15.1.0. I racked my brain for hours trying to get it DTD'd to my 2.4 and 5 GHz nodes. It might be well known to some here or it might be a fluke, but I discovered quite by accident that my Nanostation XW M5s dtd link on the secondary Ethernet port but will not link on the primary. Just a heads up in case someone else gets a node that links this way.

3GHz Hardware

Forums:
Where are most of you buying your 3GHz Hardware (nodes, antennas)? I'm having trouble finding vendors who sell that here in the USA.
