Ubiquiti 3 GHz Equipment

Forums:

I am considering getting a couple Ubiquiti M3 Rocket units to experiment with.

Does anyone know whether units produced in 2014 have the WX boards?  I am looking a couple NOS units that have a June 2014 inspection date but haven't been able to get further details.  Unfortunately, the units aren't local to me so I can't read them or otherwise inspect them.  It is unlikely that I can get the person who has them to read them for me.

Thanks.

PowerBridge

Forums:
Hello,

I am curious about the PowerBridge by Ubiquiti and AREDN firmware.  Since the PowerBridge is technically the same as a Rocket will it support the AREDN firmware?

Thanks,
Jeremiah

Powerbeam should be bricked by my mistake, but it isn't? Advice needed.

Forums:

Last night we converted 2 PowerBeams:  M5-300 & M5-400.

The 300 went fine, but in my fatigue we made a crucial error on the 400.  At the point we were rolling back from AirOS 5.6.2 XW, I accidentally selected the new AREDN firmware and installed it.  It's my understanding this is a likely bricking scenario.

I wasn't able to connect to it immediately, but since the LEDs indicated it booted the AREDN firmware I tried the reset button and a prayer.  It worked and I was taken to the initial screen.

PoE Reset Circuit for UBNT

Forums:
Hello All,

Does someone have a schematic diagram for the UBNT Reset circuit that is in most if not all of the PoE devices sold by Ubiquiti?
I've seen the forum posts there - and I suppose I could crack one of those open too - I was hoping I could get a circuit here.

I'm designing a custom PoE device; and I'd like to add this feature.  Note meaning the radios we're using here.  It sounds like UBNT
may have changed the circuit for some of the newer devices based on what I've read over on the UBNT forums.

Replacing NS-M5 with PowerBeam M5

I am the "source" node for our five node Mesh in Lake Havasu City, AZ, via Internet Tunnel (tnx, AI6BX). I am RF connected to a Rocket M5 w/ 120° Sector on a high point. Several other nodes connect to it. My NS-M5 has main and secondary port. One goes to my home network for the tunnel. The other supplies IP to computers, RasPBX, Pi, WiFi.  In order to provide better signal I am replacing it with a PowerBeam 5GHz, which has only one port.  I'm looking for options.

Need help from the Guru's!

Forums:

Greetings from Canada!

I recently bought, configured, installed and ran a used Rocket M5 as my tunnel server.
That was it's sole purpose.  No antennas were connected to it, and in the
configuration the power settings were at the minimum (6db?).

Okay, so it was working fine until recently.
All of a sudden it decided to go brain dead.
No problem ... I re-flash it using TFTP without problem.
It takes the TFTP without complaint, but when it reboots
and I'm sitting at the NOCALL page, I notice that the

reset psw powerbeam M5-400 - dmz and led lights

Forums:

Hi leading-edge folks -

I just updated my new Ubiquity Powerbeam M5-400 to the 3.17.1.0RC1 factory firmware.  Set up the new node eventually.

Then rebooted, changed psw, and re-accessed localnode.local.mesh:8080 successfully. Now I want to access setup, and the node does not accept the new user name and password!!??  I thought I wrote them down properly, but ....

Do the Ubiquiti TouchSwitchs support 802..1Q VLAN?

The data sheet for Ubiquiti's TouchSwitch series indiacates VLANs are supported, however, it does not specifically state that the switches are compliant with 802.1Q VLAN. Has anyone successfuly used these switches in their mesh network?

Thanks and 73,

Bob

Difference between Powerbeam M5-400/300 & 620

Forums:

I was under the impression that the difference between the Powerbeam M5-400 and M5-300 (XW devices) was simply the size of the dish, but I see that there is different RC1 firmware suggested in the firmware matrix.  According to the Firmware tables, the PBE-M5-300 shoiuld load the NSLoco XW RC1 firmware where the PBE-M5-400 says Rocket XW firmware.

Aren't these the same "heads"??  If so, why the different firmware recommendation?

While we're at it - how about the PBE-M5-620?

CPR for Air Router AR

Forums:
I have an Air Router with no LED's showing when connected to 5VDC.
I suspect VR1 voltage regulator is dead, but I do not have the skills to replace this very small SMT device.
If anyone wants to give it a try, I can ship it to you in a $5 flat rate box.
