RF Device: ubiquity Rocket M5
Camera: Wired Ethernet
Weather station: Wired Ethernet
Question: If the two devices are plugged into an unmanaged switch like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A128S24/ then into the ubiquity - can the AREDN software handle them both - perhaps switching between them and sending an image or weather data string - alternating every minute or so?
Thanks

QRT-2: Are these viable for AREDN load?

Forums:
Can we get the QRT-2 (RBQRTG-2SHPnD) working as an AREDN node? It has an AR9342 chipset like other AREDN nodes.
The reason I ask is because it has some great advantages over other 2.4GHz nodes:

* 35dBm HIGH POWER!!! (isn't that like 3 Watts?)
* 22 degree Horizontal & Vertical beamwidth
* 17 dBi gain MIMO panel antenna
* Low profile form factor for such a promising PtP device
* Did I mention 35dBm Power?

TP-Link CPE510 2nd LAN port for d2d

Forums:
Hi there,

anyone uses the 2nd LAN port on a TP-Link CPE210 or CPE510 for d2d connection? is this working, are there known issues or other topics I should know, i.e. regarding POE supply over the 2nd port?

Thanks,

Firmware Check Failed

Forums:
Hey All,

I recently tried to update my Nanostation M2 firmware, but in the process, it seems to have failed. Upon initial power-up, the device shows both the first green led and the fourth red led illuminated and nothing happens after that.

nameserver ip when programming ubiquiti Rocket M5

Forums:
ubiquiti-tftp is making me crazy ...
I loaded Linux on a Chromebook, downloaded the AREDN firmware for a ubiquiti Rocket M5 and followed the instructions.
The first step was to "Set Static IP Address" by editing /etc/network/interfaces.
That file didn't exist so I let nano create it.
I then populated it as instructed auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.0.1 dns-nameservers 4.4.4.4 dns-nameservers 8.8.8.8

If it ain't broke, don't fix it?

Hi Folks;

I currently have two Nanostation M2's, both with AREDN loads on them.  I have NO idea what kind of M2's these are (XM, XW, Loco, other?).

One reports that the AREDN version is 3.16.1.1, the other shows 620-13a6afb.  They do 'see' each other on the mesh status page, though one is by the node name and the other only by IP address.  I can connect from one to the other and see each others' status page so they're communicating on some level.  I haven't yet tried to transfer any data between them (IP cam, et al).

Ubiquiti rocket M5 - waterproof, how critical is the protective shroud?

Forums:
Hi guys

I have a ubiquiti rocket m5 connected to a AM-5G19 sector antenna. The "protective shroud" is missing on this antenna. Would you consider that as critical for using the antenna outside, or would you say that the rocket itself is waterproof? (according to ubiquiti support, the shrouds are not available as spare parts).

Unable to save change to NAT mode with 3.22.8.0

Forums:

I have a MikroTik LHG XL HP5 that I flashed some while ago and set up in NAT mode.  A change in LAN routers required changing the IP addresses for the device and the gateway.  There was no problem in doing that.  The firmware version originally used to flash the device was aredn-3.20.3.0-ar71xx-mikrotik-rb-nor-flash-16M-sysupgrade.
