Mikrotik RouterBoard 411 experimentation

Forums:
#Please move to the right category if needed I recently managed to save a couple RB411AR from being trashed as its seems like they are currently being decommisioned in my area. They are fitted with R5SHPn 29 dbm mini pci cards each and are atleast supported by OpenWRT. By googling a bit it also looks like they are identical to the RB435 which simply offers a few more mini-pci and possibly others with similar CPU and storage type.

How to un-brick a GL-iNet AR750 after incorrect firmware install

Forums:
I'm both ashamed of myself for having gotten into this mess in the first place, but also proud of myself for figuring out how to fix it on my own. So I figured I'd share on here in case someone else runs into the same issue.

PoE switch that will power a Mikrotik hAP lite and a TP-Link CPE210

I bought the hAP lite thinking it could power the CPE210 out the PoE port 5. Both devices advertise themselves as 24 volt passive PoE, so I thought they'd be compatible. However, The CPE doesn't receive power when connected to port 5 of the hAP. On the other hand, the hAP can be powered by the PoE injector that came with the CPE.

Is there a single PoE switch that can power both devices?

VLAN Netgear Switch GS108

Forums:
Dear all. VLAN is tricky..

Running here a Netgear GS108E switch. We have 3 mesh nodes connected on port 1, 4 and 6. On the system the mesh nodes appear as DTD, which is correct. The mesh node on port 1 is hosting our PBX PC, this pc is plugged in to Port 2. A phone we have plugged in on port 3.

REOLINK Cam on the mesh

Forums:
Dear all. Having currently a REOLINK RLC-520 on our AREDN Mesh system for testing. The cam works fine but i am not able to have the service steady on the node: IP is reserved for the cam and on the right in the section advertised services the cam has been advertised on the network ( see attachment). After saving and rebooting the node the service is advertised, but after a while the camera is not advertised anymore, it has to be redone.  Mouse over the icon exclamation mark it says "service is not been advertised". Any suggestions? Regards HB9FND, Alex

powering a Mikrotik hAP lite via a PoE switch

Forums:
So the hAP has a PoE IN port. Unfortunately, it's set as the WAN port by default. I need ti to be a trunk to the PoE switch so I can connect DtD nodes and LAN devices to the PoE switch and have it work properly. Is there a way to do this?

RF Mesh Trouble?

Forums:
Hello dear Hams,

I have a phenomenon with several HAP AC and GL 300M nodes.
All devices use the same RF mesh channel and bandwidth.
Oddly enough, only the AC Lite and the GL300M connect to each other.
All nodes are only listed when I connect a GL to a Lan port.
Do I have a configuration error or a mistake in reasoning?

Greetings

NanoStation M5 PoE questions

Forums:
Hi, everyone,

I have a couple of questions about the Nanostation M5 that's in the supported matrix (the XW that is linked to an Amazon page). Does the PoE passthrough work on the secondary port, and if so, how many volts does it provide? We are thinking about mounting a PTZ camera that requires 48 V via PoE on a tower and powering it through the passthrough on the Nanostation. I'm wanting to make sure it will work.

Thanks and have a great day. :)
Patrick.
