Rocket M2 v6.0.7 Downgrade Issues

Forums:
Hello,

I currently have a UBNT Rocket M2 running AirOS v6.0.7 and have not been successful in getting it downgraded to a firmware version that supports AREDN.  I even tried the 6.0.6 beta firmware, but the Rocket will not accept this as it is v6.0.7.  Does anyone have a firmware path that will enable the device to downgrade? Thanks

Installing new Firmware.

Forums:
I am trying to install the new firmware (3.22.12.0) on an older but still supported Ubiquity node (Bullet M2). It all goes as normal but when i reboots. it still has the old version. I suspect that there is not enough memory to have Mesh Chat on the node and be able to install the new Firmware ( another node of the same type  without MeshChat was able to install). I wanted to remove all the not needed packages to free up memory but I cant tell which ones are form MeshChat and which are needed for the update procedure. Any help would be appreciated.

Any advice for a Bricked MikroTik LHG XL HP5

Forums:

Hello Fellow members
K6BFG and I had a perfectly working MikroTik LHG XL HP5 running AREDN firmware at one of our sites. I decided to upgrade the firmware and I accidentally flashed it with Ubiquiti Litebeam M5 firmware. Needless to say, the unit is now bricked.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to fix this unit?

I tried going through the whole process of running tinypxe and using the reset button on the unit. Unit was never able to fetch a dhcp address.

Iv been researching and it seems NETINSTALL could be my solution.

Missing 'MAC2' on Meraki MR-16

Forums:

I installed AREDN (aredn-3.22.12.0-ar71xx-generic-mr16-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin) on a Meraki MR-16. (Yay!) I did install an older version of OpenWRT 19.07.5 first, as indicated in the instructions I followed, and I did set the Mac address.

On my first boot, when I enter in some basic information and try to save it, I get the following message:

Ubiquiti TS-5-POE 24v Battery Operation

Has anyone tried operating the TS-5 from a 24v battery?

Specifically I am trying to understand the voltage operating range. A 24v LiFePO4 battery typically operates between ~22-28v.

The included power adapter is 24v 2.5A

Thanks,

autonomus reset of ubiquiti radios

Forums:

Hi all,
after a full year of operation of a mesh including 14 nodes of several types we are trying to summarize the troubles evidenced in this operation period.

The only recurring problem is the following:
without any evident correlation we got a reset of various radios; namely the affected nodes was:
- 2 nodes equipped with bullet M5;  one of the nodes got reset 4 times, the other 3 times
- 1 Nanostation M5 : got reset 3 times

What ethernet cable should be used for an outdoor run?

Forums:

I am planning on an exterior installation for an AREDN node.

What Ethernet cable should be used?

I will be using POE to power the node.

Thanks in advance!

“Invalid Mesh IP Address” error when installing on MikroTik LHG 5 ac

Forums:

I'm trying to install the AREDN software on a MikroTik LHG XL 5 ac (P/N RBLHGG-5acD-XL). I can load the rb.elf file using the Tiny PXE server and the file appears to install properly.  When I connect using a browser I see the initial AREDN screen. However, the NOCALL header on the screen has no suffix.  It just says “NOCALL” and nothing else.  At this stage of the procedure, after installing the rb.elf file, I'm used to seeing a header that says "NOCALL-XXX-XXX-XXX".
