Upgrading Ubiquiti Rocket M2 via administration page

Forums:

Hi there,

I have a Ubiquiti Rocket M2 that was flashed with the old Broadband Hamnet firmware (3.1.0) and we want to upgrade it to AREDN. The one issue I have is the reset button is pretty mangled from trying to use screwdrivers to push it. I had it in TFTP mode once, but couldn/t get it to work with Windows 10. So my question is can I use the Administration page from the localnode site to upgrade the firmware, or are they completely incompatible?

A second question is do I use the sysupgrade firmware, or would I still have to use the factory one first?

New Guy Question

Forums:
I installed the current AREDN firmware on an Ubiquiti Rocket M2.  What's odd is my computer will only connect to it using the IP address with the port number.  It will not connect to the Rocket using the localnode address.  Is this an issue on my computer or on the Rocket?

Computer is a Windows 10 machine.  I sure miss Windows 7!

Although this is a minor annoyance at home, I can see it being problematic when trying to connect over RF.

This is all entirely new to me so there may be something obvious I'm just not thinking of.

Rats! Another way to reset your node to default...

Forums:
Yes, rats! We had a rat chew through several cat5 cables and a fiber cable at work. Upon fixing, my node was reset to default! Apparently whatever the PoE reset button does, so does the rat teeth! Ian

Support for Mikrotik rb-952ui-5ac2nd

Forums:
I am experiencing a problem with the Mikrotik rb-952ui. Sorry if this has already been documented but I have not found it stated this way.
Scenario 1 - If I set the RF for 2397MHz / 5MHz and connect port 5 to a unmanaged switch and then to a nearby NanoBridge on 2397MHz / 5MHz (also plugged into the same switch), the Mikrotik sees the NanoBridge via dtd but not via RF. It does not see a NanoStation on 2397MHz / 5MHz which is only 30 feet away, on the same frequency, via RF.

Good camera for low light, but low bandwidth use

Forums:
Anybody have good input on an AREDN capable camera that has really good night time resolution (low lux) even if it is black and white?
It would be nice to have a capability for it to maintain good video resolution (even if only in balck and white) if it has limited bandwidth, like 2Mbps or so.
Thank you,

NanoStation Crash

Forums:

I had a brand new Nanaostation M2 mounted on a 20 foot pole that fell over and of course the Nano managed to find the sidewalk.  The case is cracked so I took it apart to survey any other physical damage.  The PC board has no obvious damage, but the metal cover on the RF section had popped off.  I powered it up and it appears to boot up but now it is transmitting on channel 11 at 20 mhz bandwith where it had been at channel -2 and 5 MHZ bandwith.  Also the LAN ports appear to be dead.  I tried to set up for a TFTP reflash, but I can't get a ping on the LAN port.  So I did a few hours of res

Nightly Build support for TP-Link CPE510 v3

Forums:

Andrew KK4ZUZ (coding) has been working with Jean-Michael VA2XJM (with the test hardware) to add support for the latest version of the TP-Link CPE510 device, now at hardware rev v3.   This will be in the Nightly Builds from Dec 11, 2018.

Yet another round of applause and thanks!

Please post usage experience here.

Nightly Build for Picostation M2

Forums:

Unless I am mis-reading something, I am not seeing a nightly build for the Picostation from Ubiquiti, is this correct?  Or is it called something else?  I've loaded nightly builds for the Air Router, Nanostation and Bullet with no issues, so I would like to put one on my PIco also, but not finding it.

Bullet 2HP (FCC ID: SWX-B2)

Forums:
I have acquired a Bullet 2HP (FCC ID: SWX-B2) and it has a non-functioning reset button on the unit and when I try to use the POE reset, it does go into the proper light sequence for a reset.  It will not take the AREDN firmware like my other two Bullet (which are the Bullet M2 (FCC ID: SWX-M2B)).  I did go the the UBNT web browser and was able to upload the Bullet to a more current firmware of XS2.ar2316.v4.0.4.5074.150724.1340

NanoStation M2 - POE on Secondary Port

Forums:
Hello,
I have a NanoStation M2 running 3.18.9.0. Is there a way to turn on pass thru POE? I would like to run a second NanoStation by daisy-chaining them.

I found some old notes talking about a setting in the Advanced section, but the only setting I have there is "Advanced Mesh". But, these were on an older version of the firmware.

What am I missing?
