GL-USB150 Airborne?

Forums:
Has anyone put one of these units on a drone yet?  Not sure if there would be too much interference with the 2.4GHz flight control.  Is there a 5GHz equiv unit available that compares to the GL-USB150 that would be a good candidate for an AREDN port?

Altelix Antennas On Sale

Forums:

Altelix has all their antennas on sale as of this date.  These work with Ubiquiti, TP-Link, and Mikrotik devices and some even include the adapter plates.  Prices are much better than the equivalent Ubiquiti products.  Check their website at www.altelix.com.

GL-USB-AR150: Strangeness

Forums:

I have a double node name ala
dtdlink.NC8Q-USB.local.mesh / NC8Q-USB.local.mesh (tun*-1)

Node Name = NC8Q-USB

However all the local mesh nodes are displaying:

dtdlink.NC8Q-USB.local.mesh / NC8Q-USB.local.mesh (tun*-1)

I have no clue why there is a double node name nor
why ('tun*-1)

Hi,

I am looking in to setting up an AREDN in Nottingham, England, UK and so i have been looking at the hardware available and keep coming back to the newest version of the Ubiquiti Rocket M2 the Ubiquiti Rocket R2AC Prism airMAX.

https://www.ui.com/airmax/rocket-prism-ac/

But it is not listed on the supported platform matrix and a Google search did not seem to come up with anything relevant.

Does anyone know if it is suitable ?

Ubiquiti PowerBeam 5AC 500

Forums:
I was given 2 of these Ubiquiti units, PowerBeam 5AC 500. Is there any potential use for these on my AREDN system?? Can they be flashed? I don't see them in the list. These are solid units. 1 is still mounted on a tower of which we have a repeater at.

GL-USB no path to Internet

Forums:

Installed AREDN firmware on a GL-USB - tnx for the thread on getting it done right, CQB! I want to dl packages, but being a USB w/o Eth ports, I haven't found a way to get a path to the Internet from either windows boxes or Ubuntu. Is there some trickery involved? (This is the only 2GHz node in town. I don't want to buy more boat anchors to play with this very fun gadget.) TIA

Question on Participating in Columbus, OH

Forums:
Hello to the group, I am interested in setting up a node in Columbus. I am in NW Columbus, across from the State EOC, very near Dublin-Granville Road and Sawmill Road. Not sure if I will be better off working with AC8YE or WB8CJW. Can you advise with instructions or a point of contact to get started? Also, what is the most preferred equipment for this range? Thank you, John N1CTF

Nanostation M2/M5 Mimo firmware flash error

Forums:

Hi All,

new to AREDN and just getting started. I have a few Ubiquiti nanostations... M2 M5 Mimo devices.
I tried to flash one last night via tftp and was not successful.

I received this error: Error on server : Firmware check failed

I followed the instructions that are posted on this site.
The device is in the right mode, 1,3 & 2,4 lights flashing alternately

This is the command line I'm using: tftp -i 192.168.1.20 put c:\temp\aredn-3.19.3.0-ubnt-nano-m-xw-factory.bin

Raspberry Pi as VLAN switch?

I have a Raspi in the shack connected via ethernet to my node to host meshchat and the onboard camera.

I know enough to think it should be possible to bridge the WAN vlan of the node to my home router via wifi from the pi.  However, all the linux networking configuration tutorials I've found seem to assume I already know what I'm doing (big mistake).

Can anyone walk me though it?

PS I'd like the Pi to have internet access at the same time, either directly or roundabout through the node.
