Rocket M5 XW node reboot issue

Forums:

I have a Rocket M5 XW on firmware 3.20.3.1 that seems to 'erase' itself when I save a change and reboot.

I've had this Rocket for about 18 months in testing, but recently deployed it up on a tower.  I belive the upgrade to 3.20.3.1 was rather recent for this device.  I didn't see this happen until of course it went up.

I was able to recover it by doing a factory flash on the near end using the reset button.  I did the flash sequences, configured the node, saved the settings, and it was working fine.

Light Dish Feed Install

Forums:
See attached for a narration of how I installed the Mikrotik Light Dish Feed successfully to a Satellite TV dish.  The gain, at its current state of testing and adjusting, is 5dB better than my Nanobridge 5G25 dish pointed to the same mountaintop node. It's a bit big and awkward for portable Go-Kit use, but if used on a sturdy tripod, will work if you don't need to put it on a mast.

TFTP connect request failed

Forums:

I tried to find a topic on this issue but failed so I need to ask.
I'm trying to load AREDN software into a M5 rocket XW. I write tftp -i 192.168.1.20 put downloads\aredn-3.20.3.1-ar71xx-ubnt-rocket-m-xw-factory.bin into the command prompt and it seems to take but comes back "Connect Request Failed"
The node is flashing red/yellow and appears in the tftp mode.
Network setting is 192.168.1.50

Restore Ubiquity Firmware on NanoStation M5 ???

Forums:
I successfully installed AREDN firmware on a NanoStation M5.  Works great.

I'd like to reverse the process to use the NanoStation on a wifi project.  Can I somehow reinstall the Ubiquity firmware (only to reverse the process later to reinstall the AREDN)????

Gl.inet AR750 Creta center n/w plug without DHCP?

Forums:
Hi,
I noticed with my new AR750 Creta that the RJ45 in the middle provides no DHCP and no normal network operation.
Is that connector reserved for DtD? Or something defect or I made a failure?

95 SNR?

Forums:
We have seen this on several nodes, and know it is not a real signal, but I wonder if it could an effect on the AGC, or other  software tweaks that the node will do?  Typically I have seen this on Nanostations M2 or M5, where the node is receiving a signal hovering right around the noise floor.  This is not presenting any problems, but I just wanted to mention it in case it could affect the node operation.

GL AR750 in Nightly Builds

Forums:
The GL.iNet AR750 will be in the nightly built images from May 27, 2019.   Thanks to Don KE6BXT for providing the device.  This GL model boasts:

1) dual wireless - 2GHz (802.11n) and 5GHz (802.11ac) same as the hAP ac lite
2) 3 ports are configured:
    - WAN (untagged)
    - LAN (untagged)
    - DtDLink (vlan 2)
3) 128Mb of RAM
4) 16Mb of NOR flash
5) max 23dBm on 2GHz for mesh RF traffic
6) 5v mini-usb power port (thus no POE passthough options)
7) usb port (not configured in AREDN out-of-box)

Forums:
Just starting out and want get good equipment that will be future proof. I am looking at some AC equipment but I know they're not supported at the moment, hopefully around Christmas time I've read.
Would it be worth the wait if I have a good deal on an AirMax Litebeam AC gen2 or TPlink CPE710? Or should I just say screw it and get something that will work now?

I've touched base with the local group and they suggested I post here :)

Thanks

Is the PBE-M5-400-US supported?

Forums:

We are just getting started into the world of mesh networking.  My question is - The airMAX PowerBeam 5 GHz, PBE-M5-400-xx is listed on the supported list, but with an ISO suffix rather than the -US suffix. Is it still supported by the AREDN firmware? Thanks!
