HOWTO: Revert a CPE510 to Pharos

Forums:

I had no problem installing AREDN on a CPE510 V3.20/3.28 (Software says one, sticker on device says newer), but I could not revert to Pharos using the file upload feature in the AREDN web interface. I think this is typical of Pharos devices.

I tried using use the following dnsmasq command after setting the wired ethernet connection to 192.168.2.1/255.255.255.0:

dnsmasq -i enp2s0 -u root --log-dhcp --bootp-dynamic --dhcp-range=192.168.2.110,192.168.2.120 -d -p0 -K --dhcp-boot=recovery.bin --enable-tftp --tftp-root=/tftp/

Adding A Node

Forums:

So, I am brand new to all of this and am working hard to get Pittsburgh hams to get a MESH going here. Several of my ham friends are buying hardware and working with their clubs.

I successfully flashed a Mikrotik hAP AC lite yesterday and it is connected to my primary shack computer. I understand this to be my first node.

GL iNet-AR300m16-EXT Flash Problem

Forums:

I have the above unit and downloaded the software.   When flashing to AREDN Firmware from stock, using the Update procedures, I get the following error "Failed! ERROR: Incorrect firmware format!"

Tried on two different machines, using Stable and Nightly builds.  Any one have a clue how to proceed??  The model appears to be supported, best I can tell.

GL AR300M16 in nightly builds

Forums:
The code to support the GL AR300M16 is in the nightly builds, available from May 18th, 2019.    Summary of specs:

* 2GHz
* comes with or without 2 external antennas models
* 23dBm max xmit power
* 2 ports -  LAN/DtDlink (untagged/vlan 2) and WAN (untagged)
* power is supplied with USB 5v cord (could run for days on readily available battery pack typically used to charge cell phones)
* look for the "gl-ar300m" image
* 3 led lights:   power, booting/booted, established mesh link

Identifying XM vs XW... after reflash

Forums:
Is there a way -without disassembling an AREDN reflashed  Ubiquiti node-  to determine what hardware version is inside (XM or XW)?

I ran into an instance where an existing  Aredn NanoStation M5 node was going to be DTD'd to another node.  I was trying to determine if the Secondary Port (XW) is what I was needing to connect to, or not (XM).   I looked in the AREDN setup screens and couldn't find any "hint" of what hardware circuit board was inside.

Connecting Flashed GL USB 150 to Wi-Fi

Forums:
So, I just flashed my new GLi USB 150 and I would like it to connect to the internet. Only my Hap is CAT6 connected to the router and thus getting an internet connection. How do I get my GLi USB 150 (or any node not connected to a router) to connect to my local wi-fi internet?

Thanks. de K2PMD

SXT Lite 5

Forums:

Just picked up a MikroTik SXT 5NDR2 (or SXT Lite 5 for short) https://mikrotik.com/product/RBSXT5nDr2  This thing is small!  27dBm and a 16dBi dish that fits in your hand.  Perfect for stealth installations.  I've asked Joe to have a look at it.  Hopefully we'll get support for it.

Ubiquiti NanoStation AC Loco

Forums:
Howdy, everyone!
     I am new here to the AREDN mesh group and apparently seem to be the only ham in Northeast Louisiana that looks to be interested (per forum and map). Anyway, I recently acquired a handful of Unifi NanoStation AC Loco devices. Taking a look at the firmware and whatnot they appear to not be XM or XW but rather WA. Has anyone played with these before or are they simply of no use to AREDN? Figured I would ask because 'free' is always better than forking over $$$ especially right now.

Thanks and 73!
