Mikrotik LHG5AC XL new install procedure failure

Forums:

The ARDEN procedure to new install on a Mikrotik LHG5AC XL with v6.48.6 firmware requires downgrading to v4.45.8. The linked OpenWRT downgrade procedure states that OpenWRT newer than v6.46 must be downgraded to v4.45.8. The procedure provided does not work because on reboot the log file states that v6.45.8 cannot be installed because it is newer than the "factory version of v6.48.6". I upgraded to v6.48.7 to verify the procedure works when newer than v6.48.6. Mikrotik states that downgrading below the factory version is blocked because the hardware doesn't support it.

TP-Link CPE210 setup issue

Forums:

I just purchased two CPE210 nodes from Amazon and proceeded to set them up via the Pharos software. All went well until the AREDN install rebooted. Now I cannot connect to either node using the 192.168.1.1 ip. I can ping it and get 100 percent return. I am using a HP Pavilion g6 laptop running Windows 10. I cannot reach the node using MS Edge so I loaded Chrome and now I seem to reach the node but it will not allow connection. Any help would be most appreciated. TNX es 73, Dave K8HMF

Mikrotik LHG 5 won't keep config

Forums:
I’m trying to upgrade a Mikrotik LHG 5 firmware to AREDN.  I set the System / RouterBoard Boot Device to Try-Ethernet-Once-Then-Nand.  Protected Routerboot is unchecked.  I go through the process of upgrading with TinyPXE and reboot.  Once the device reboots it still has the Mikrotik firmware.  The IP is still 192.168.88.1.  Boot Device is back to Nand-If-fail-then-ethernet.

If I set the LHG back to Try-Ethernet-Once-Then-Nand, apply the change and just reboot it goes back to nand-if -fail-then-ethernet.  Any ideas?

Trouble with Nanostation M5-XW and SW 3.22.12.0

Forums:

Dear maintainers.

First of all, very good work you're doing with the project and the forum. Lots of information and good advice in here, and very good reading material as well. Especially for me as a newbie to AREDN, there is a lot to learn and study.

Mikrotik BaseBox 5 with mANT30 PA parabolic dish

Forums:

I currently have a MikroTik LHG XL 5 ac (P/N RBLHGG-5acD-XL) dish antenna which provides 27 dBi of gain and a maximum power of 25 dBm.  The hilltop node that I’m trying to hit is seeing me with a SNR of 17 dB.  I’m seeing the hilltop node with a SNR of about 23 to 24 dB. I’ve tried realigning my MikroTik dish several times with no improvement.

TPlink CPE210 with inoperable 3.23.4.0 won't boot replacement FW

Forums:

I have 2 TPlink CPE210s V3.26 that I want to flash with AREDN firmware.  I first tried the most recent "aredn-3.23.4.0-ath79-generic-tplink_cpe210-v3-squashfs-factory" using the PHAROS software that came with the CPE210.  It flashed, I could ping it and open the NOCALL page.  When I entered the user/password I got the "Bad Gateway error that many have reported.   I just spent a week trying to reflash it with 3.22.12.0, which worked on my 2nd CPE210, using the TFTP and TinyPXE methods but nothing ever took.   Following the instructions on the bottom of this page

Mikrotik hap ac lite RB952Ui-5ac2nD-US

Forums:
I am about to setup my first AREDN Mikrotik node. I have watched several videos on the install.  I downloaded the factory and sysupgrade files.  The videos shows the initramfs-kernel file to have an .ELF extension but the newest (3.23.4.0) download has a .BIN extension.
The videos say to rename the file to RB.ELF should I change the .BIN extension to .ELF or should I rename the file to RB.BIN?
TIA

R5AC - PTMP version

Forums:

I know the Uniquiti R5AC PTMP version is not the LITE version. Its supposed to have airPrism filtering. (doesnt cover the low band)
Does anyone know if the PTMP will accept our latest AREDN Firmware?
Is it a matter of just trying it?

MikroTik SXT routerboard boot settings/Won't sysupgrade

Forums:

Does anybody know the correct settings for the boot settings on the MikroTik SXT?  I believe the options are a mix of nand, flash, dhcp, and bootp.  I'm stuck in endless DHCP boot sequence after first applying the correct .elf file and I get to the NOCALL first boot just fine, but I can't seem to apply the sysupgrade .bin file and make it through that next boot sequence.

Are there log  trails or syslog setup that I can look at?
