AR-750S

Forums:

Could we add a firmware version for the AR-750S slate version. Basically a 750 with two directional antennas.

basebox 5 and mANT 19s

Forums:
Has anyone use these two units together? How does the Basebox mount to the antenna or is it external to this antenna by mounting it to the mast? Do you need to purchase 2 of the coax pigtails (flex guide)?
Any pointers before I go any further.

Thanks

Devan

AirRouter instability Nightly 84 & previous 3.20.3.1

Forums:
It seems that I am noticing some instability with AirRouter nodes on the latest Nightly version 84 and possibly back to production 3.20.3.1  They increase load factor and then go unavailable on the network but are still seen on the node list.  I have not been able to obtain a diagnostic dump as of yet.  I believe this usually happens with nodes that do not have RF buddies like has happened way long before.

update on supporting 802.11AC hardware -- Mar 2021

Forums:
Obtaining full support for 802.11AC hardware is possible in 2021.  The issue is that the firmware code to support 5 and 10 MHz channel widths is not available until Oct 2021 timeframe.   This code does exist in the upstream opensource community.  However,  the developers that created this code are licensing it out to cover their costs and lively hood.     Then, in Oct 2021, we have been told, this code will release to openwrt and become available for AREDN's use.   Until then, only 20MHz channel widths could be added to the AREDN firmware.

Heads Up: New Mikrotik BaseBox board revision breaks AREDN/OpenWRT

Forums:
Hello All, The SFWEM team have sadly discovered that MikroTik's Basebox has been updated to a new board revision (r2) which breaks compatibility with AREDN firmware. Until this compatibility issue is resolved, do not order a MikroTik BaseBox 5 - you won't be able to use it. There's an OpenWRT thread tracking the issue here - if affects both the 2GHz and 5GHz models: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/add-support-for-mikrotik-rb912uag-2hpnd-r2/4...

New Mikrotik MantBox

Forums:
Group,

I guess I am glutton for punishment. We received another new radio the other day and this one is getting one over on us as well. That said I am coming into this with a recent victory under my belt. The radio is currently at another hams and I will be picking it up today for further testing. The specs of the radio are as follows.

The unit is a mANTBox2 12S
It's ID:  RB911G-2HPnD-12S
s/n: 918903E357FA/010/r2

LAN versus Wifi on HAP Lite

Forums:
Hi All

As I've previously posted, I've got my HAP Lite connected to my home router via a LAN port with no issues - all seems to be working fine. I can connect to the Wifi side of the Lite and access my local Mesh network (I'm tunneling in).

What of the other 3 (currently) unused LAN Ports? Are they in the LIte's subnet or my home router's?

Rocket M5 XW node reboot issue

Forums:

I have a Rocket M5 XW on firmware 3.20.3.1 that seems to 'erase' itself when I save a change and reboot.

I've had this Rocket for about 18 months in testing, but recently deployed it up on a tower.  I belive the upgrade to 3.20.3.1 was rather recent for this device.  I didn't see this happen until of course it went up.

I was able to recover it by doing a factory flash on the near end using the reset button.  I did the flash sequences, configured the node, saved the settings, and it was working fine.

Light Dish Feed Install

Forums:
See attached for a narration of how I installed the Mikrotik Light Dish Feed successfully to a Satellite TV dish.  The gain, at its current state of testing and adjusting, is 5dB better than my Nanobridge 5G25 dish pointed to the same mountaintop node. It's a bit big and awkward for portable Go-Kit use, but if used on a sturdy tripod, will work if you don't need to put it on a mast.

Rocket M5 Titanium not working

Forums:

I have two Rocket M5 Titanium which I was able to load the AREDN firmware. I configured them and unplugged them. Now I'm unable to access them again to change the configuration.

Any idea on how to access them again?
