What's better than the Microtik LHG 5 Ghz XL?

Forums:

I'm helping a friend with get mesh setup at his house.  We have tried the Microtik LHG 5 Ghz XL version for a point to point at it's highest power level and am finding it's just below the SNR needed for a solid connection (averaging 25 SNR, 84% LQ, 2% NLQ).   The location is smack dab in the middle of two sector antennas, both of which are pointed about 45 degrees away from his location in Yorba Linda:

Zero degree downtilt omnidirectional MIMO 3.4 GHz antenna?

Forums:
Does anyone know if there is an omni-directional 3.4 GHz MIMO-capable antenna with zero degree downtilt?

I have two of the Ubiquiti 3 GHz antenna, but they have a pretty aggressive six degree downtilt which has proven to be unusable in my rooftop-to-rooftop installation.  The nodes are close enough together that the gain of an omni antenna will more than suffice.

Mikrotik US version?

Forums:
Is there any issues with Mikrotik devices that state US Version? I couldn't fine any reference either way searching the forum.

Decals (or keeping your link antenna paint free)

Forums:
Anyone have a source for weather resistant decals that read:

        Active Antenna
Do not paint, cover, or block

Hopefully the same size and fonts as the standard AREDN decal in the store

Painting a sector antenna

Forums:
So here is a very low tech question, no electronics or firmware updates required.    We are considering the option to place remote solar powered nodes in a variety of out of the way, high elevation locations.   As part of that we would like to employ 'security through obscurity' by, as much as possible, not calling any attention to the installation.    Hence the desire to 'camoflage' the antennas which would likely be the most visible part.   The antenna could be on a pole or attached to the trunk of a tree.   I would assume any paint which does not have a metallic content would be transparent

OmniDirectional Antennas

Forums:
Hello forum,

I've noticed that many OmniDirectional mesh antennas are being flagged on the device matrix as obsolete, or likely to become obsolete.

I've got several cases for a powerful Omnidirectional antenna where we need a short length (less than 1km) distance through obstacles.  We can deploy either 2.4 or 5 ghz, and perhaps go with small bandwidth for increased Link Quality (over speed).

Is there anything that could work and will be supported?

Thank you,

What ethernet cable should be used for an outdoor run?

Forums:

I am planning on an exterior installation for an AREDN node.

What Ethernet cable should be used?

I will be using POE to power the node.

Thanks in advance!

mANTBox 15S vs 19S

Forums:

I'm considering the two devices below as sector antennas.  I see the 15 is about 3 lb and the 19 is about 6 lb.  There is a price difference.  What other differences are there?  Also, is the US version ending in -US acceptable for the AREDN firmware or do I need the international version?

Mikrotik BaseBox 5 with mANT30 PA parabolic dish

Forums:

I currently have a MikroTik LHG XL 5 ac (P/N RBLHGG-5acD-XL) dish antenna which provides 27 dBi of gain and a maximum power of 25 dBm.  The hilltop node that I’m trying to hit is seeing me with a SNR of 17 dB.  I’m seeing the hilltop node with a SNR of about 23 to 24 dB. I’ve tried realigning my MikroTik dish several times with no improvement.
