Problem Flashing Rocket 5ac Lite

Forums:
A bunch of Ubiquiti PowerBeam 5AC devices flashed just fine. However, 2 Rocket devices get stalled at the password after flashing the revised Ubuiqiti firmware. These are Rockets needing the XC firmware:

Any plans on how to approach new WiFi hardware?

Forums:
I just heard about this project by chatting with someone online.
I'm working a lot with another OpenWrt fork: https://github.com/freifunk-gluon/gluon
Please ignore my faked callsign, I actually don't have an amateur radio license. Without faking I could have created this thread only as a github issue which doesn't feel like the right place to discuss this topic:

What is your question
I'm curious:
What are your plans regarding support of new/modern hardware plattforms (targets)?

LightBeam 5AC Gen2, install works

Forums:
Hello UI users,
This is an FYI...  My Ubiquiti LightBeam 5AC Gen2 arrived last week so yesterday (22-July-2024) was AREDN flash day.

My radio arrived with firmware V8.7.11 installed so an upgrade (or downgrade, in this case) was required.  On loading 8.7.0, i did get the error message stating it wanted at least 8.7.4 and uploaded that one instead... PASS!  The instructions flagged this so i was prepared.

Hap AC Lite issue DNS or IP ?

Forums:
Hey all - new here.

I've got a Hap AC Lite setup with WAN on my home network - so it has internet connection.  It's successfully tunneled to a friend site.

I am trying to connect to it with a mini travel router - single WAN single LAN -- Lan connected to laptop - no WAN.  it's using the 2Ghz band, channel -2 10Mhz.
default settings.

I can see the Hap just fine - but if I try to click on any services (meshchat) or any tunnel services from other sites - I get a page not found - err.

trouble with new NanoStation M5

Forums:
Noob to Ham mesh here so please forgive me if I've missed something obvious (been trying to address this on my own for several hours) or if I've posted in the wrong forum.

I have a new Ubiquity NanoStationM5. I have successfully flashed the "factory" and the latest firmware. The status page is showing "firmware version: 3.24.6.0" and "model: Ubiquiti NanoStation M5 XW"

The unit is in setup mode and has  LAN address:

Ubiquiti Bullet AC

Forums:
I'm flashing the Ubiquiti Bullet AC 3.24.10 and following the instructions it does come up but:
1) Switches from 192.168.1.20 to 192.168.1.1 and does DHCP service.
2) Only Telnet and ssh services running, no webservice.
3) The ash CLI is running and you can telnet or ssh in.

So sysupgrade to the nightly build, now web service works with the new UI but lots of stuff missing. I can change the node name, password, and location, but the usual "todo" list isn't there, just a blank yellow area. Most normal new UI stuff is missing.

Mikrotik Basebox Out of Date - Can't Update?

Forums:
I have an older Mikrotik basebox on a tower that has not been updated in awhile.

"Current Version:
3.22.12.0 Hardware Type: (ar71xx/mikrotik) mikrotik (rb-912uag-2hpnd)"

Can someone advise how I can advance this older load to get up to date?

How should I configure my network?

Hello AREDN Community,

I'm currently setting up a network that includes a MikroTik hAP ac lite router and a NanoStation LocoM2, and I'm seeking advice on the best way to network these devices together within the AREDN framework. My goal is to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance for both devices, leveraging the unique capabilities of AREDN.

Current Setup:

  • MikroTik hAP ac Lite
  • NanoStation LocoM2

hex poe for DtD linking?

Hello -- I am very new to AREDN but I am trying to get up to speed.

I am trying to replicate the setup recommended in the "Device to Device (DtD) Linking" part of the AREDN website.  I have installed a Ubiquiti M2 with sector antenna and a BaseBox5 with sector antenna at the top of my tower, both running AREDN firmware 3.24.10.0.  The M2 and BB5 each have a 50-foot run of shielded CAT6 cable coming down the tower & plugged into two of the ports on a MikroTik HexPOE switch.  The switch provides POE to both the M2 and the BB5.
