Aredn Node UI

I have been working on the hAP ac3. The new update fixed dtd issues. Now I see the dish on local node list. I go to click on the device and get the UI - 

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at n5jlp-708-w-ave-o-tower.local.mesh.

If use a poe and connect it to the computer I can get in the node.

Whats the issue here? Its on port 5 dtd. We can access the allstar node on the other dish. I know the link is solid.

Mikrotik XL HP5 ethernet issue

Recently upgraded to ver 25.x.x successfully, went into package management to remove and reinstall meshchat.  After rebooting no ethernet activity.  I'm unable to recover ethernet and the node.  Suggestions?

Has anyone here done the antenna mod referenced below on the AC2?  I have about 400' to reach the tower node.  Internal antennas will not cut it and the limited (and poor) reviews of the AC3 are not encouraging.

The Mikrotik QRT5 flat panel device will be available in the Dec 19, 2018 Nightly Build.    While it is a bit more cost than other devices with similar performance this 5GHz device has a very low profile and relatively small foot print.   In a 12" x 12.5" x 2" (max depth) packaging, this device commands:

xmit:   30dBm
gain:   24dBi

hAP ac Lite Port 5 DtD not working?

I am brand new to AREDN - just got my hAP ac Lite and LHG-5HPnD-XL flashed successfully last night. After reviewing older forum posts and the docs, it's my understanding that the hAP ac Lite is supposed to automatically form a DtD link on Port 5 with any other node plugged in there. Both devices are on the latest firmware (3.24.10.0). The LHG-5HPnD-XL never shows up if plugged into port 5, and the port manager is not present under advanced options where I'd expect to find it along with x-link settings.

Hello all --

I am trying to build a tower-mounted two-radio setup as described on the "channel planning" part of the AREDN site.  I need to send PoE to the 2GHz and 5GHz radios at the top of my tower.  And I need the 2GHz and 5GHz radios to mesh together, which I understand is what DtD is for.  After several days of attempts I have not had success getting the two radios to talk to each other, although I know that each one of them is running separately.

I would like to ask if it is possible to run AREDN firmware on a Mikrotik OmniTIK U-5HnD device, which is not on the list of supported devices?

I have two Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco M5 units.
Tried installing the first, seemed I bricked it.
Tried the second one and it went well, installed and tested, connected to the mesh.
Went back to the first one:
Put it in TFTP Server mode and PUT the Ubiquiti firmware on it and it works fine.
Put it in TFTP Server mode and PUT the AREDN firmware on it, It reboots and all, LEDs look like the functioning one but I cannot connect to it.
LEDs Power ON, LAN Blinking Next LED slow RED Blink, Last LED Green solid on.
