Hardware support for Netbox 5

Forums:

Hi,

Do we anticipate the ability to add hardware support for the Mikrotik Netbox 5 (RB911G-5HPacD-NB)? We have a number of mANT30 dishes we'd like to upgrade to newer hardware at some point but are currently locked to the older basebox 5.

Saw Ori post in Github that  hAP ac lite will no longer be recommended?!. even though it is still listed on hardware support?

https://github.com/aredn/aredn/issues/2074

Please advise as we got just recently bought a bunch of ac lite's and had multiple fail to upgrade on the last  two nightly builds and to re-flash.

ac lite connecting to router resets ac lite

Forums:
I flashed my ac lite with 3.25.2.0 and can create a mesh connection with my ac3, but when I plug the ac lite into my home router (using port 1 here from https://downloads.arednmesh.org/snapshots/readme.md and https://arednmesh.readthedocs.io/en/latest/arednHow-toGuides/home-router... ) the ac lite gets hot and turns both LEDs off, which made me worried about some electrical fault.

Mikrotik LHG XL HP5 (5HPnD) ethernet keeps resetting [SOLVED]

Forums:
Quick background -- I'm trying to set up a station, with the initial design goal of local access and portable operation with the option to expand to a node with some good LOS back to the LA basin from Verdugo or Wilson.

I've set up an hAP ac Lite for local access and bridging to my local network. That works great and I can connect up a second mikrotik device over the passive PoE passthrough for the "real" mesh link.

Ubiquiti Litebeam M5 Firmware

Forums:
I have a Litebeam M5 that is running 3.22.12.0.  I wanted to get this node updated to the newer firmware to match my other Mikrotik nodes.  I do have the node on a smart switch that allows it to get Internet access (using vlans).  I have tried several ways to update the node:

    Openwrt One Router Support?

    Forums:
I am here at the Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE 22x).  I AREDN has a booth here.  This prompted me to check out the nodes around my location, and possibly put one up.   I'm looking at the hardware list and saw some of the gl.inet routers on there, also some microtik devices.   However one row away from the AREDN booth was the Software Conservancy, and they had on display the Openwrt One router.  I got into reading about the nodes and what AREDN uses and it appears a lot of the hardware is repurposed that uses openwrt.   Are there plans to support this router?  Right now it looks like th

    Sourcing the RBLHGG-5acD-XL ?

    Forums:
I'm having a hard time finding the RBLHGG-5acD-XL while looking around the usual US-based Mikrotik resellers. It's sold out most places and where it is available it's only available as a 4-pack. The non-XL variant is discontinued. I'm wondering if Mikrotik's 802.11ac gear is going end-of-manufacture in favor of their newer 802.11ax offerings. Has anyone seen these for sale (and in stock) in single-unit quantities?
    Thanks!

    HaLow HT-HD01

    Forums:
Is anyone working on a firmware build for any HaLow boards? I have a few of the Heltec boards working in ADHOC mode over 900mhz with Babeld and BATMAN running for routing, then using the 2.4 or ethernet to link into a regular AREDN node, which seems to give me a similar capability to the older Ubiquiti M9 Rockets.

These support an external antenna but unfortunately only use SISO.

Mikrotik hAP ax3 and QRT 5 ac

    Forums:
My friend asked me to flash two Mikrotik nodes he purchased. After I set things up to flash, I looked carefully at the name plates and realized he did not order the hAP ac3 or the QRT 5 as he desired. Will either of these devices flash the currently listed ac3 and QRT5 builds??

    Thanks,

    LiteBeam M5 Firsboot Screen Stuck

    Forums:

    Hello everyone,

I flashed the Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5 (lbe-m5-23) device with 3.25.5.1 XW. Then I saw the firstboot screen (192.168.1.1). After entering the information and clicking “save and reboot,” I cannot proceed to the dashboard screen. No matter how much I try, the device won't switch to the 10.x.x.x IP address.

Has anyone else had experience with this device or a similar experience with a different device?

    Best regards.
