GL-iNet B1300 Firmware rejected

Forums:
My GL-iNet B1300 (Convexa-B) works fine with the factory OpenWrt system, and behaved as per the documentation, but I cannot install AREDN because the firmware image is immediately rejected due to some kind of verification that it is doing*. Conveniently it reports the SHA of what it read which is exactly correct - so data corruption is not the reason.

So what am I supposed to do to make the firmware install?

Trouble Flashing AREDN to Ubiquiti LiteAP 5AC (TFTP Mode Uncertain)

Forums:

Hi all,

I’m trying to load AREDN onto a Ubiquiti LiteAP 5AC and haven’t had any success. The device only has two LEDs (power and signal), and the documentation doesn’t describe a clear TFTP recovery sequence.

I’ve been powering up while holding the reset button for ~30 seconds. At that point the power LED begins slow-blinking while the signal LED stays solid. I’ve been assuming this is TFTP mode, but I’m not certain.

New Mikrotik ac3 with RouterOS V7.8 installed by the factory. -problem?

Forums:
Hi, I just got a Mikrotik hAP ac3 with RouterOS v7.8 installed.   I read in the Aredn docs that I need to downgrade the RouterOS to v6.x and then flash the Aredn FW.  I've also read that you can not flash the ac3 with a version of the RouterOS earlier than what came from the factory.  So it seems I should send this back for a refund, if I understand correctly.  Much of this knowledge is from the OpenWrt page on the subject.   I've successfully flashed 6 hAPac Lites, 4 SXTsq5ac and 2 SXTsq lite 2 nodes, so I know the process.  Does anyone have recent practical experience or advice?  Thanks in a

Ubitquti Air OS 5ghz dish compatible for AREDN

Forums:
My old club has a Ubitquiti Air OS 5ghz dish with a Rocket M5 XW on it. It is still in its original factory firmware. They want to convert it to AREDN. Is this dish compatible with AREDN?  I don't see a specific Air OS model on the compatible device list. But since it uses a Rocket M5 XW i thinking it is.

Mikrotik hAP ac lite

Greetings all,
I am a newbie to all this mesh stuff. I have a decent IT background, yet things still cause me issues. THIS IS ONE OF THEM! I am working with a windows 11 pro machine. I have DL the current Aredn mesh software for the hAP ac lite and the tiny PXE server software as per the the instructions.
Completed the six steps in the install preparation phase with no problems.
Got to the point of starting the PXE server--OK and press the "online" button;
on the node pressed the "reset" button and applied power.

HaLow hardware

Forums:
Hello,

I'm in the process of designing and producing a HaLow product for the open market as there are very few available.

I am wondering if there is much interest in working together for AREDN support? I would love to have a firmware well supported for the amateur radio community.

Also since ham hardware does not need FCC certification it would be possible to have an amplifier integrated for this community.

Thanks and 73

NanoStation M5 cannot install

Forums:

I am trying again on my NanoStation M5. I have it in TFTP mode, have tried 192.168.1.5 and 192.168.1.20. Angry IP shows my computer as 192.168.1.5 or 20, and the node on 192.168.1.1.

C:\Users\ckotan\Downloads>tftp -i 192.168.1.1 PUT aredn-579-27f4356-ubnt-rocket-m-xw-factory.bin
 Connect request failed

I've tried fully qualified path name, of course. This is using the windows tftp command. I turned off the bit defender firewall - no joy.

Ubiquity Lite Beam

Forums:
Is this the Lite Beam listed on the Aredn Matrix as usable? https://www.amazon.com/LiteBeam-LBE-5AC-Gen2-Ethernet-Protector-High-Spe...
Thank you.

Rocket M5

Forums:
I just got a used Ubiquiti Rocket M5 with an older version of AREDN on it.
I need to know what firmware to use for it.
In trying to reset Password/DHCP it became unresponsive.
I was able to get it into TFTP mode so I tried the following firmwares:
  • aredn-4.26.1.0-ath79-generic-ubnt_rocket-m-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin but it failed to install.
  • aredn-4.26.1.0-ath79-generic-ubnt_rocket-m-squashfs-factory.bin and all looks good on the LEDs but no network access.

Ubiquiti PowerBeam M5 400 Firmware

Forums:

Two yeas ago I installed a Ubiquiti PowerBeam M5 400 to connect with the AREDN mesh network in Marin county, north of San Francisco.  Its firmware version is 3.22.8.0.  It worked well until recently when it was dropped from the network.  I've been advised that I need to upgrade the firmware to reconnect but the ARDEN download page does not appear to list firmware for the PowerBeam M5 400.  All guidance to help me reconnect will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Richard, W6AWO
