MikroTik hAP PoE port not powering node

Forums:
I've converted it to ARDEN and the UI shows up fine either on WiFi or wired.  For some reason, I can't get the PoE port 5 to power up an external node.  I kept the external node connected to the hAP then applied power to the hAP. During the hAP's boot up, I see the external node lights turn on to boot, then go off.  At that same time, I see a Red LED on the hAP.  When the red LED goes off, then the node lights all go out.

TPLINK CPE610 - BOOT LOOP

Forums:

Hi all,

My CPE610 just got delivered this morning, i downloaded the factory file to flash to the node, the web interface of the tp link rejected it, so did it via the PXE server route, now the node looks like it is just in a reboot loop after taking the renamed "recovery.bin' file.

Ideas?

Bullet fails as access point

Forums:
As part of a larger ham project, I have 2 ubiquiti bullet wifi units.  W8ERD-WiFi2 and W8ERD-Wifi3.
Both are set to be access points. No other connections. Only one on  the air at a time.  3 is newer and 2 is older.

If I try to connect to 2 from iphones (4S), they say “cannot connect to W8ERD-WIFI2”

If I try to connect to 3 from iphones, they never connect and just show a spinning wheel.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

ub NSM5 rear indicator lights on mesh

Forums:
Hi all,

I have a ubiquiti nano station m5 (NSM5) on arden 5g freqs, the lights on the back mean one thing in factory non aredn land but what do they mean in on aredn? I soon to take it out in the field to test a connection to another site so I would be keen to know if one means I have a link rather than hauling my laptop out.

2 nodes and 1 hAP router cfg question

Hi,
I have a 5GHz Mikrotik dish and a Ubiquity omni w rocket someone loaned me today. Both are powered by their own PoE injectors. Port 5 on the router has PoE disabled. Previously I had it enabled and worked fine with just the dish.

TPlLink 220 V2 and3

Forums:
Group,

I have 2 TP-Link 220 devices. One of them is a Version 2 and the other is a version 3. I have a couple of 210's that I have done with success. Has anyone in the group run into any issues with the 220s? I had a unique instance with the new rocket M2 and was able to work through that. I'm curious if these need a similar resolve.

Thanks!

NanoStationlocoM5 issues

Forums:

Colleagues,

I've attempted to get a Ubiquti NanoStation loco M5 device working as an AREDN node and have been having some problems. The NanoStation is brand new and has a test date of 09/25/2019. The situation is:

Configurating VLAN on Tenda Switch

Hello, i have a Tenda Switch and i am trying to set it up with a PowerBeam M5 400 Ubiquity Antenna with AREDN firmware.

I have one port of my router connected to the Port 8 of the SWITCH and Port 8 is in VLAN 1 (this is for the WAN) TAGGED.
and i am using the Port 1 of the switch to connect the anntena and  configured this port to VLAN1 and 2 and TAGGED.

The problem is that the antenna is getting IP on the WAN and i can reach the switch on 10.0.0.25 but unable to reach the antenna on 10.0.0.50

Ubiquiti antennas on 5.9ghz? Do they work?

Forums:
The majority of my nodes are channels 133-150 (5Mhz wide), we have a new site available which already has a 2.4 and 5.8 WISP there, and they are very protective of their 5.8ghz spectrum(long story, they have priority with the landlord).

How well do the Airmax 5.8 sectors work in 5.9ghz or are there any 5.9 dish antennas out there which don't cost a fortune?

My experience with the Powerbeam 620 showed the performance at the top-edge of 5.8 to be poor and 5.9 to be near non-existent.
