GL.iNET GL-AR300M16-Ext. / new generation / how to flash?

Forums:
Hello,
As this is my first post here I'd like to welcome everyone.
I bought a pretty new GL.iNET GL-AR300M16-Ext and found out that this is a new version with
128 MB Memory (see label).
It was not possible to flash the available firmware that works perfect on the older model due to a checksum error (see error message).
Does anyone have an information how to flash the new generation.
Many Thanks.

M900 Rocket and new FW release

Forums:
I have an M900 rocket and it has never been flashed for AREDN.

Every time I try to flash it with AREDN (aredn-3.24.6.0-ath79-generic-ubnt_rocket-m-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin), tftp fails with "Error on server. Firmware check failed". Interestingly, if I use the factory load (aredn-3.24.6.0-ath79-generic-ubnt_rocket-m-squashfs-factory.bin), it loads without error.

Help?

Old Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M5 XW

Forums:
Hi guys

just wanted to give you a short information:

I tried to install the 3.24.6.0 factory on an old Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M XW as the image for this model is available on the download page. However, after several attemps, I gave up, as this installation ended in a boot-loop. Maybe this image only runs on latest XW models.

From a former installation on a similar device I remembered that it runs with the Ubiquiti Rocket M5 XW firmware, so why not give it a try?

TP-link CPE710 - Does anyone have one that is working?

Forums:
Is there anyone that has a TP-Link CPE710 running AREDN firmware that works reliably?  If so I'd like to know what version firmware you are using, and how the node is installed.  The firmware is listed as "stable" for this device.  Our organization bought a bunch of these over a year ago and have yet to deploy them because they do not work reliably.  They are CPE710 version 1.  I have a couple of bug reports on Github but so far ,no resolution to the problems.  I'm just curious if anyone else has had luck with this device.

MikroTiK HAP AC Lite WAN Wifi issues after installing Nightly Build 20240821

After Installing Nightly Build 20240821 - I lost my WAN WIFI connection and tunnels. Screen shots of my settings attached. Appreciate advice to restore my tunnels and WAN WIFI connection.

No TFTP exchanges with Mikrotik SXT SQ Lite5

Forums:
This is partially a follow up to a previous problem I've been having with a Mikrotik SXT SQ Lite5.

Following the AREDN documentation, and recommendations on OpenWRT, I was able to successfully downgrade the RouterOS version to the recommended version 6.45.8. I can log into the node via the Mikrotik suite of tools and access the node's settings. I can also change the boot device settings to try-ethernet-once-then-nand in preparation for using Tiny PXEserver. Protected Routerboot is not enabled and the boot protocol is bootp.

Bullet M2 - sunset

Forums:

Hello,

For several years, I used a Bullet M2 on my antenna tower with an omni antenna, and it provided excellent WiFi coverage. Unfortunately, not only is the device no longer working, but it's also outdated with only 8 MB of flash memory. I haven't found a good alternative to the Bullet M2, except for the Mikrotik Groove, but it seems that its chipset is not supported. I particularly liked the Bullet for its ease of flashing and updating via power injectior with the embedded reset button, so I didn't need to climb the tower.

[SOLVED] MikroTik SXTsqG-5acD will not see DTD connection

Forums:
While supporting the NYC Marathon on miles 15.5 through mile 17, I deploy 8 AREDN nodes every year to send video streams to both race control and to One Police Plaza.  This year I ran into a hiccup.  While upgrading all the nodes from their Nightly builds to the 3.24.10 release, I bricked a MikroTik SXTsq5HPnD by forcing the wrong firmware onto it using WinSCP & SSH.  (I later discovered that I had two identically named directories, and chose the wrong one; so ends my days as a firmware version hoarder).
