Ubiquiti LiteBeam 5AC firmware installation challenge - SOLVED

Forums:
Addendum:  I have been informed that some of the LBEs had different flash chips, something that will be addressed in a future version of the code. Since I sent my inaccessible LBE back via RMA and was sent a new unit in return, it is possible that I just got lucky this time around with the replacement's flash chip. All I would advise is that if you get to "step 3" in my original posting, where the wifi "mesh 2" network is the only option you have for accessing the unit.

Rocket R5AC no network?

Forums:
I bought a used Rocket R5AC-lite. I got the firmware flashed in the typical fashion with no issues. However it now does not DtD link with other nodes!
I have these devices, all have current firmware 3.24.10.0
  • Mikrotik RB750UPr2 setup with a simple bridge on all ports. no filtering, NAT, vlan, nothing.
  • Mikrotik hAP Ac lite
  • GL.iNet GL-AR750
  • the Rocket R5AC-lite in question

  • The hAP and AR750 have DtD linked to each other, but neither one can "see" the R5AC.

Aredn Node UI

Forums:
I have been working on the hAP ac3. The new update fixed dtd issues. Now I see the dish on local node list. I go to click on the device and get the UI -

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at n5jlp-708-w-ave-o-tower.local.mesh.

If use a poe and connect it to the computer I can get in the node.

Whats the issue here? Its on port 5 dtd. We can access the allstar node on the other dish. I know the link is solid.

Mikrotik QRT5 911G-5HPnD support

Forums:

The Mikrotik QRT5 flat panel device will be available in the Dec 19, 2018 Nightly Build.    While it is a bit more cost than other devices with similar performance this 5GHz device has a very low profile and relatively small foot print.   In a 12" x 12.5" x 2" (max depth) packaging, this device commands:

xmit:   30dBm
gain:   24dBi

Forums:
I would like to ask if it is possible to run AREDN firmware on a Mikrotik OmniTIK U-5HnD device, which is not on the list of supported devices?

Install issue

Forums:
I have two Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco M5 units.
Tried installing the first, seemed I bricked it.
Tried the second one and it went well, installed and tested, connected to the mesh.
Went back to the first one:
Put it in TFTP Server mode and PUT the Ubiquiti firmware on it and it works fine.
Put it in TFTP Server mode and PUT the AREDN firmware on it, It reboots and all, LEDs look like the functioning one but I cannot connect to it.
LEDs Power ON, LAN Blinking Next LED slow RED Blink, Last LED Green solid on.

Mikrotik NetMetal 5

Forums:
Hello All.

The Mikrotik NetMetal 5 is a new edition to the hardware available for AREDN.  Looking on Amazon, there are several variations of this though they all look the same visually.  Is the "US Version" the one to buy?

Thanks.

Mikrotik NetMetal 5 AREDN Package?

Forums:
Good Afternoon, All.

I have a new NetMetal 5 in my hot little hands but seem to be unable to locate the AREDN package for it.  The Supported Devices List shows:

Searching within the normal AREDN package process (https://downloads.arednmesh.org/afs/www/) does not produce any results.

Any suggestions as to where to locate and download the package?

Thank you.

Ubiquiti Bullet form factor

Forums:
I really like the Ubiquity Bullet  for it's compact size and shape. I see the Bullet AC dual band is not supported. I also see the Bullet-m2 xw is released but not tested. Is there other stable hardware that fits the Bullet style? It's hard to tell from the product descriptions the exact model.
When I search Ubiquity Bullet M2(XW) this is the description that comes up on Amazon.
 Ubiquiti BULLET-M2-HP Outdoor 802.11 B/G/N M2HP.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
