Reboot after loading kernel

Forums:

I have a bullet m2 which will not accept any firm ware. I have tried to load the latest Arden and back to the Ubiquiti firmware and not able to communicate. I take the unit apart and connected to serial port. When  I start the m2 it shows the unit booting and I unable to stop the boot process. It continues until it reads loading kernel and then it reboots.. Does anyone have any suggestions or what ever information you need.

Supported Ubiquity Node? or Boot tester Issue?

Forums:
Hi Everyone

I was given a couple of ubuquity device I would like to use with  AREDN  software to link with some of the other local groups....the Ubiquity devices work fone with the factory SW in them so I am confident they are good......

The devices are marked Bullet2, and I am wondering if they are compatible with the AREDN software.

When I run the BootTester Utility it passes the first 2 steps but craps out on step 3......with this error:

"Error: System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

NSM3 Fiirmware XM.v5.3 Can't Load to 5.5.10

Forums:

Hi all,

I've just picked up a brand new set of 2 Nanostation M3s (NSM3).  They were tested on 7/8/11.  They have version XM.v5.3 firmware on them.  I run the U-boot test tool and get a GOOD/GOOD.  When I try to upgrade to v5.5.11 I get the following message in the orange banner at the top of the AirOS screen:

"Uploaded configuration file is too big.  Maximum allowed size is 65535 bytes"

I've tried to load the AREDN v3.16.1.0 as well and get the same message.

NanoStation M3 frequencies

Forums:

I'm tempted to get a couple of nanostation M3s to play with and see how they perform. However I'm concerned that the ZL 3.3GHz ham band may be a limitation for these. Ubiquiti states that they run from 3400 to 3700 whereas our band only goes up to 3410 (with 3400 to 3410 is reserved for satellites, 3399-3400 reserved for Narrowband use and 3395-3399 reserved for repeaters ). The Aredn webpages suggest that frequencies down to 3380 are usable but I am not sure if this includes the nanostation.

Bullet M5 titanium load error

Forums:
I have a bullet m5 titanium running ubiquiti version 5.5.11. The device passes the aredn u boot test with good good. When I try to load the aredn firmware I get the following error:  firmware image check failed: error number -4. I am not sure what is happening. I had a successful load on another bullet m5 titanium that i have. Any help would be appreciated.

Reclaiming flash memory tied up in deleted files?

Forums:
I have noticed that, after creating a small web site on my Bullet M2 node, that after editing various files and deleting some, that the "free flash space" as reported on the status page of my node always decreases.  Now it says 868K.  How would I increase this,or do I need to completely reflash AREDN on the node (maybe the flash needs to be completely erased to get the space back)?  In the future, I'd have to test my edits elsewhere (like on my PC) before loading it onto the node, to avoid wasting flash space.

AirRouter HP oddity

Forums:

UPDATE; it was not the AirRouter, read the responses for details !!!

I thought I had read an earlier discussion on this specific, but was unable to find it.

I was testing a known good AirRouter HP ... specifically using  the DTD port 4 for node connecting to a NanoStation NSM5; all nodes using the full 3.16 flash (not the beta).  My computer connected to ports 1,2,3 on the AirRouter

Is there any reasonable likelihood that the RM2-TI will ever be supported?

Bullet Titanium M2 v5.6.2 help

Forums:

I am looking to downgrade my new Bullet Titanium M2 to a version that is supported by AREDN. I read that I need v 5.5.x but I am unable to find anything below v5.6.1
When I run the test program I get BAD/GOOD so I know I need to do the downgrade before I load in AREDN.

TP-LINK CPE510 5Ghz (NO) POE accepted on the 2nd Port

Forums:
I was going to deploy a TP-LINK  CPE510 on a tower yesterday and discovered that it will not accept POE power on the 2nd port, which is required to be used for DTD connection.  So, either here we go again with 2 cables - one with POE to port 1 and a second cable for data DTD on the 2nd port.  Unlike the Nanostation XW models which can take power and data on the 2nd port (see another thread on this), this TP-LINK device does not "pass-through" the POE power on port 2 to operate the unit.
