Air Router - invalid distance value

Forums:
I am trying to set up y first Air Router.

Made the orignal Flash it with Aredn "factory" file.  When I try to set up parameters in the WiFi column ( such as IP address, channel -2, etc. ) then try "Save Changes" I get a report "invalid Distance Value".  Yes the "Distance to Farthest neighbor" reads 0 miles 0 kilometers and the cells are "grey" in color and can not be changed.

I tried re-flashing with the System upgrade file and have the same problem

please help

AirGrid and NanoBeam General

Forums:
Greetings all,

Are the "M3" NanoStation and "M3" NanoBridge the same radio?

Forums:

See Page 15 of the current NanoBridge M3/M365/M9 Quick Start Guide, "Specifications" in particular.

www.ubnt.com/download/airmax-m/nanobridgem/default/nanobridge-m3m365m9-q...

The reference to Gain shows "NSM3/NSM365" as 21.5 - 22.4 dBi and for the 900 MHz "NBM900"  as 10.6 - 11.3 dBi.

DtDlink port?

Forums:
I picked up an AirRouter, and installed the AREDN firmware.  It's working fine, so far, but I was told on another thread that the AREDN firmware comes preconfigued with 1 DTDlink port, 3 Lan ports, and 1 WAN port.

My question is -- which port is which?  The WAN is obvious -- it's labeled.  But then there are 4 LAN ports.  Which one is the DtDlink?

I've been through the Help file, and there's no designation of any such.  Does the firmware auto-detect a DtD connection?  That's the best I can come up with.

Thank you!

Signal to Noise Ratio data and graph

Forums:
interesting situation on my NanoStation M2 as my S/N ratio no lo longer shows data and graphs allowing me to check and compare links. I am very interested in seeing this now as I just installed several RF Armour shields and want to see the difference.

any ideas? I tried a reboot.

Use of AirFiberX

Forums:
So, I believe I have read that the AREDN SW is compatible with the Ubnt OS, by that I mean I could set up a backhaul using Ubnt OS and link to local nodes using AREDN - correct?
If so, and I use 3Ghz backhaul, using a freq within ham band, would I identify backhaul with my callsign or is that not permitted/necessary.

Pre-M series Bullets and Loco

Forums:
Hi to the group. We have come across a few old Bullets and Locos that are Pre-M series. They are labelled Bullet2 and Loco2. Has anyone had luck loading AREDN firmware into these? Sorry if this has been asked and answered before.
Thanks and 73.

Hi everyone, first post to this forum.

RFI from Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M2

Forums:
I'm getting active again on HF and VHF, and I've discovered that my Nanostation Loco M2 produces quite a few birdies throughout those bands. The main type of RFI is a form of random beeping that sounds much like a CW QSO when you tune by.

While I can probably move the unit out of direct view of my other antennas, does anybody else have any suggestions on how to have everything better coexist? I'm using the recommended shielded Cat 5 cable, though I'm not doing anything special to ground the shield at the PoE injector other than to connect the injector to a 3-pin outlet.

Using HSMM mesh Linksys WRT54GS v1 as web page server

Forums:

Repurposing a couple of HSMM mesh flashed Linksys WRT54GS v1 routers I had.  These have 8MB of flash, which provides a goodly amount of left over flash memory one could use for small web pages as "services".  Oh, you could use a regular computer as a server, but if you only have a few small pages that are purely html code, putting them into the router's flash in its /www directory would be easier and not require extra hardware.  I used SmarTTY to get into the router's flash memory.  You put in the box "host name" the IP address the router is at in your network, like 192,168.1.251:2222  (the
