NanoBeamM5 19

Forums:

I have a couple NanoBeamM5 19 with v5.5.9(xw)

I would like to use these as Nodes.

The supported hardware matrix points to the ubnt-loco-m-xw firmware.

I tftp the firmware,  it reboots as normal,  log-in to localnode:8080,  set node name and password as usual,  save the changes.

here it goes south.  the node doesn't reboot.  I still get a 192.168.1.24 ip address from the node and it comes back an an un-configured node.

where do I go from here?

NanoStation Loco M5 (XW)

Forums:

After flashing a NanoStation M5 (XW) I was unable to connect to the radio directly via the ethernet, I was able to connect to the radio via wifi.

I accessed the AREDN setup entered my call, password and Distance.  When I try and save the settings it came back "Configuration not saved.  parameter DTDMAC in file*_setupdefault does not exist".

I'm unsure what to do next.  Any ideas?

Is the 24V/1A PoE sufficient for Rocket M2 and a NanoStation M2?

Forums:
I would like to use the secondary port on my NanoStation M2 to power a Rocket M2 with the PoE pass through, so I upgraded the PoE supply to the Ubiquiti 24V/1A version rather than the 0.5A version that normally comes with the NanoStation. I just learned that the Rocket is shipped with the 1A version. Does the Rocket take more power than the NanoStation? If so, with the 1A supply power both units at the same time?

Thanks,

Mikrotik LDF5 firmware image download Help Needed

Forums:

Has anyone tried loading the "Microtik First Install Process" using the "Windows Procedure"? Lately?
Under "DOCS, GETTING STARTED GUIDE,  Installing AREDN Firmware", "Mikrotik First Install Process"
Please read below and enlighten me on what I might be doing wrong.  Thanks!!!
1. I have a new Mikrotik LDF 5 that I'm trying to load the AREDN firmware package (step 1) on to.
2. Everything seems fine up to the pont in the AREDN Mikrotik "Windows Procedure" step 5 and 6.

TP-Link 210 Bricked

Forums:
Nothing better to do in a snow storm, other than bricking a brand new TP-LINK 210v2.

Windows launched a system update while setting up new 210. The flash locked out at 53%. A meshnode wireless connection shows up in net list, it does not seem to have enogh loaded to continue or recover.

How do you recover a 210v2?

TP-Link CPE220 v3.0 support in nightly build

Forums:
Andrew KK4ZUZ strikes again!  The CPE220 v3.0 will be in the Nightly build as of Dec 6th, 2018.  If you purchase a CPE220, these are the latest versions manufactured.   Thus, depending on distributor inventory, you may get this version.   Again, AREDN support in advance of OpenWrt.  Andrew is on a rampage knocking these devices down like clock work.

The cpe220 device commands:
1) 2GHz
2) 30dBm xmit power specs
3 12 dBi antenna gain
4 MIMO dual polarization

Node fails to update from 3.16.1.1 firmware

Forums:

I have successfully updated all of my nodes to 3.19.3.0  except for one that after the attempt keeps returning to 3.16.1.1.

I believe the hilltop node is a NanoBridge M5G22 .    I have tried several times to do the upgrade but after  uploading of the software the node will go offline as normal but will return  with the old 3.16.1.1.     I have tried to upload a fresh  file of 3.19.3.0 and still no go,  always returns with 3.16.1.1.     Any ideas?

Unable to upgrade RBLDF-5nD EU version

Forums:
Hi

I’ve received today two units of RBLDF-5nD EU version.
I’ve verified that they work with the original Mikrotik firmware and then I went about upgrading them to AREDN 3.19.3
Using the Tiny PXE tool I was able to load the elf file and got to the point where AREDN image was running from RAM.
The issues started when I’ve tried to permanently install the firmware.
After uploading the bin file, I’ve got the infamous Bad Gateway error.

Seeking 5G amplifier recommendations; chain polarity q

Forums:
All,

I am putting together a few nodes using Rocket M5s. I am seeking recommendations for good bidirectional amplifiers to pair with them. Ideally, so that a bit of pre-amplification can be done, in addition to the TX amplification. If the datasheet is accurate, the maximum TX power from the Rocket M5 is 27dBm.

As they have two chains, I am pairing them with antennas that have vertical and horizontal connectors. I'm connecting them with short RP-SMA to N pigtails. I'd like to place the amps as close to the antenna input as possible.

GL-USB150 Airborne?

Forums:
Has anyone put one of these units on a drone yet?  Not sure if there would be too much interference with the 2.4GHz flight control.  Is there a 5GHz equiv unit available that compares to the GL-USB150 that would be a good candidate for an AREDN port?
