Bullet M5 titanium load error

I have a bullet m5 titanium running ubiquiti version 5.5.11. The device passes the aredn u boot test with good good. When I try to load the aredn firmware I get the following error:  firmware image check failed: error number -4. I am not sure what is happening. I had a successful load on another bullet m5 titanium that i have. Any help would be appreciated.

I am just curious if a wifi usb dongle can be altered to send and receive on the ham only channels of the 2.4 ghz spectrum? I am curious because, I am looking to work with a raspberry pi zero as a mesh node. I am hoping it can turn into a very very small >25 dollar option for hams who may be interested in ARDEN but who may not pay for a ubiquiti router (of course that will have to wait until the pi zero is actually being sold at 5 bucks). I don't really think the linksys routers are really worth while because their limited memory capacity.

I have noticed that, after creating a small web site on my Bullet M2 node, that after editing various files and deleting some, that the "free flash space" as reported on the status page of my node always decreases.  Now it says 868K.  How would I increase this,or do I need to completely reflash AREDN on the node (maybe the flash needs to be completely erased to get the space back)?  In the future, I'd have to test my edits elsewhere (like on my PC) before loading it onto the node, to avoid wasting flash space.

UPDATE; it was not the AirRouter, read the responses for details !!!

I thought I had read an earlier discussion on this specific, but was unable to find it.

I was testing a known good AirRouter HP ... specifically using  the DTD port 4 for node connecting to a NanoStation NSM5; all nodes using the full 3.16 flash (not the beta).  My computer connected to ports 1,2,3 on the AirRouter

Bullet Titanium M2 v5.6.2 help

I am looking to downgrade my new Bullet Titanium M2 to a version that is supported by AREDN. I read that I need v 5.5.x but I am unable to find anything below v5.6.1
When I run the test program I get BAD/GOOD so I know I need to do the downgrade before I load in AREDN.
