Use of AirFiberX

Forums:
So, I believe I have read that the AREDN SW is compatible with the Ubnt OS, by that I mean I could set up a backhaul using Ubnt OS and link to local nodes using AREDN - correct?
If so, and I use 3Ghz backhaul, using a freq within ham band, would I identify backhaul with my callsign or is that not permitted/necessary.

Pre-M series Bullets and Loco

Forums:
Hi to the group. We have come across a few old Bullets and Locos that are Pre-M series. They are labelled Bullet2 and Loco2. Has anyone had luck loading AREDN firmware into these? Sorry if this has been asked and answered before.
Thanks and 73.

First Node Attempt

Hi everyone, first post to this forum.

Netgear GS105e configuration

Good evening!

I've read this article:

http://www.aredn.org/content/configuring-netgear-gs105e-switch-lanwan-ports

It says in the first paragraph, "The Ubiquiti devices only have 1 network port".  Since the AirRouter (and AirRouter HP) have multiple ports, does this mean the article is intended ONLY for Ubiquiti devices with one port?

At least, that's the way I read it.

Thank you!

RFI from Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M2

Forums:
I'm getting active again on HF and VHF, and I've discovered that my Nanostation Loco M2 produces quite a few birdies throughout those bands. The main type of RFI is a form of random beeping that sounds much like a CW QSO when you tune by.

While I can probably move the unit out of direct view of my other antennas, does anybody else have any suggestions on how to have everything better coexist? I'm using the recommended shielded Cat 5 cable, though I'm not doing anything special to ground the shield at the PoE injector other than to connect the injector to a 3-pin outlet.

Using HSMM mesh Linksys WRT54GS v1 as web page server

Forums:

Repurposing a couple of HSMM mesh flashed Linksys WRT54GS v1 routers I had.  These have 8MB of flash, which provides a goodly amount of left over flash memory one could use for small web pages as "services".  Oh, you could use a regular computer as a server, but if you only have a few small pages that are purely html code, putting them into the router's flash in its /www directory would be easier and not require extra hardware.  I used SmarTTY to get into the router's flash memory.  You put in the box "host name" the IP address the router is at in your network, like 192,168.1.251:2222  (the

Searching for cost effective Gateway - advice needed

Forums:
I'm searching for a cost effective (or lowest price) for a single node that I can use as a gateway to a home router.  I'm using several Bullet's, M2's, M5's, AiirRouter HP's and a couple AirGateways and 2 M900's.  I'm looking for the absolute simplest lowest cost device to use as a gateway to a home router and connect a relatively short distance to the nearest node (~100 feet) which is on 2.4 Ghz.   I don't think the home router supports VLAN.

Forums:

AirRouter HP Help

Forums:
OK, I just got an AirRouter HP and tried to upload the 3.16.1.0 firmware.  Checked first with the AREDN U-boot Test and got "Good/Good" since it was running AirOS ver 5.5.6.

Upload went well until it rebooted and now I cannot get to localnode:8080.  I have "Obtain IP address automatically" checked in the TCP/IP properties screen.  I have rebooted both PC and AirRouter but its not talking.

Trying to track dow and fix DtD connections failing

In the thread "VLAN Setup for Ubiquiti AirRouterHP ?" I've been having trouble with a DtD link between my Bullet M2, a AirRouter HP and a NanoStation m900.
