Tunnel and OLSR behavior

Forums:

All,

There have been some recent olsr instability behavior on the greater mesh tunnel'd network around the world.

Here is a possible candidate for the root cause of what people are seeing.  Note, this is exactly the kind of data we want to confirm to ether keep or change a current parameter in the tunnel implementation--or provide the node admin with an ability to locally configure.

There are 2 options to define the tunnel link to OLSR:

aredn 3.15.1.0b04

Forums:

On the Port Forwarding, DHCP, and Services page, under  Advertised Services:

If a space is entered into a service Name any attempt to Add or Save Changes clears the page and then hangs (no new screen is displayed) and no error is reported.

I believe if spaces are not allowed in service names, then attempts to define a service name with an embedded space should result in either the page being re-displayed with an error message or the space being replaced with a "-" or "_" .

Can't reserve DHCP addresses in B4

Forums:

After installing 3.15.1.0b04, I found that my advertised services were not showing up, so I went into the "Port Forwarding, DHCP, and Services" page and I could not re-assign any reserved DHCP address because the drop-down with the IP addresses was empty.

Teeny bug?

Forums:

I have found that if I create a service on the local node and on an attached server using the same service name for both, the UI will not allow the second instance to be saved. I believe the test for uniqueness should include the hostname and the service name. This makes sense since the node, and any attached servers, are grouped separately in the mesh status display so there is no confusion between the two services.

service don't work on 3.15.1.0b04

Forums:
Hi.
I have my node with a raspberry pi with some services...
I've announced service but it's not reachable at all from within the net.
I've got a node NSL2 and a managed switch where I connect my PC and the Raspberry.
I hope to collect some screenshots soon.

DNS replies oddness

Forums:
Hi everybody,

I am running 3.16.1.0b01 and I noticed a couple of odd things about DNS replies.

1) 0.0.0.0 is returned as an answer:
% host K6LUD.local.mesh
K6LUD.local.mesh has address 0.0.0.0
K6LUD.local.mesh has address 10.58.196.195

17:09:36.285729 IP 192.168.1.148.34185 > 192.168.1.2.53: 62407+ A? K6LUD.local.mesh. (34)
17:09:36.330527 IP 192.168.1.2.53 > 192.168.1.148.34185: 62407* 2/0/0 A 0.0.0.0, A 10.58.196.195 (66)

Can't get IP address from V3.16.1.0 on M2 Rocket

Forums:

I have noted that my M2 Rocket does not provide an IP address to any device.  Yes, I have the DHCP server checked.
I have also replaced all cables and it still does not work.  Any thoughts?

build develop-164 stability

Forums:
Hi all, not sure if this is the correct forum to ask these questions :)

we have here a mesh network with 10 nodes of different HW types; we was running this network for nearly 2 months with the latest official SW release with a wonderfull stability... nearly no node faileure in two months.
Then we decided to try the delevop-164 build mostly to benefit from the extended statistics...

after the upgrade we have experimented a significant instability,  like blocked nodes.  We often have also  found the OLSRD daemon crashed.

SNMP issues

Forums:

I've got MRTG monitoring about 20 nodes in our mesh network via SNMP. We're running ver 3.16.1.0.  I'm seeing some unusual things I can't figure out.  I can't find much information about what OIDs are available, so for now I'm just looking at interface traffic byte counts.  Here's what I think I know about the interfaces on an AirGrid M2 HP:

Distance slider not completely displaying

Forums:
I had seen this earlier on a TP-Link CP210, but hadn't pursued it.  This is on a NSM2.  Both are running released firmware (3.16.1.0)
This is using Firefox 48.0.1 on Fedora Linux 24 / Plasma.

I believe I've seen screenshots where the slider has a marker you can grab and slide.  I've verified it's there as I can change the distance setting; it's just not displaying.
