How to send Winlink with just a PC and a Mesh Node

Forums:
I have a laptop with RMS express ,  a windows 10 pc not being used for anything , a network switch , an NSM2 with an RF neighbor and an internet tunnel connection ( as a client ).   I want to be able to send a winlink email to the outside world using this equipment.  Is there any hardwdare I am missing ? What would I need to install on the spare pc ( to be a dedicated "server" ) ?

Setting up Contact Servers in RMS EXPRESS

Forums:
RMS EXPRESS will work over the MESH network as well as any LAN and the Internet for Post Office and Peer-To-Peer message delivery.
There are two modes of interest to us for MESH:
1. Telnet Post Office: For Store and Retrieve messages
2. Telnet P2P: For Point-To-Point message transfer between two RMS EXPRESS systems (attended and unattended)

Each has a separate address book for the server identities. P2P uses port 8774 and Post Office uses port 8772.

RMS express error message

Forums:
Trying to make PO work.
I have 2 PCs on 2 mesh nodes in the same room.
One has Winlink Express and the other RMS Relay.
I have previously been able to send email via p2p to a distant node.
But I cannot make the PO work as yet.

When I compose a message and send it to the outbox, it says
"The password you specified for W8ERD on the site properties screen does not match what the Winlink system expects."
While I am admittedly ignorant about how this works. I am puzzled that:

RMS Relay on Linux

Forums:

I am working to install RMS Gateway.  I'm using this URL: https://github.com/nwdigitalradio/n7nix/tree/master/rmsgw which speaks about CORE components, which refers to some other Linux distro, it seems.  I thought about installing RMS Gateway on an RPi2 w/ 96GB flash connected to a RocketM5+120°Sector on our mountain.  I don't expect much traffic, but is that Pi beefy enough?  I prefer Linux over damoldMScrap.

Winlink on AREDN

Forums:
Looking for a few RMS Relay hosts that I could test connectivity with via a tunnel(s).  Doing a Winlink drill here in NY on Saturday and I'd like to demonstrate the flexibility of the Winlink system
Thanks and 73

WINLINK RMS RELAY - MESH/NETWORK POST OFFICE MESSAGE SYNCHRONIZATOIN

Forums:
This is the one that we have been waiting for!

RMS Relay version 3.0.32.1 is available for testing.  To get the update, check the option on the Settings/Site properties screen to install field test versions.  Note: Beta test versions are more likely to have bugs than released versions.  If you're not comfortable with testing new software, please don't install beta versions.

Changes since version 3.0.32.0:

RMS Gateway on a D710 Kenwood with Raspberry PI

Forums:
I'm curious to know if anyone has used the Kenwood D710 radio with a raspberry PI in a packet gateway setup and what are the PI settings you used to make it work.

***the target machine actively refused it

Forums:
In trying to set up peer-to-peer Telenet connections between two nodes in my shack.  I get the "*** Connection failed: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10.23.231.185:8774" message.

I tried several combinations of nodes and IPv4 addresses.  I did make one or two valid connections and passed the traffic.  But I could not repeat the feat with no changes to the settings.  Once a connection was made but then no data was exchanged.

Mesh connected RMS Client to Client

Forums:

I would like to have a laptop inside a building running Winlink Express be connected by AREDN mesh nodes to another laptop at a portable or mobile RMS HF station set to connect to an RMS Server.  The message would be created on the first laptop and then passed to the RMS HF station.  That station would initiate an HF connection to a predetermined RMS server and pass the message.  Is this possible?  If so, how?
Thanks,
Steve
