usb ethernet with pi zero in hap usb port

hello

I have a pi zero w with a board soldered to it that combines the usb power and data ports into a usb A coming out of the side.

I want to use it with my portable hap ac lite.

I have made it so if i plug it into my laptop it shows up as a usb network card.
if I turn on network sharing I can access the pi

is there a way to make it so it can do this with the hap as well?

since I have an m2 loco on port 5 of the hap I turned off the hap rf mesh and set the hotspot to 2.4 and the pi is connecting that way now.

If I remember correctly, you can set these to use both Ethernet ports for LAN/mesh. Would it give you two dTd ports then?

hAP AC Lite won't flash .bin

I recently purchased a few mikrotik boards to start building a local (and not so local) AREDN network. I ran through the first 3 (2x baseboards 1x hap ac lite) without issues. Grabbed the second hAP and it took the .elf without issue, but when I upload the .bin to either via the webUI or via the CLI it won't flash and it reverts back to RouterOS 6.7 something. I've tried with the force and no repartition flags with no avail, anyone else run into this? I've factory reset the RouterOS as well.

Hi All:
New to AREDN. Have flashed two M2 radios OK. Trying to flash a brand new, right out of the box hAP ac lite RouterBoard with no success. Does the router need the quicksteps configuration routine first to make it useable, or should it be flashable right out of the box??? I am getting this dialog from the tiny PXE server when trying to install the .elf file:

Brand New Ubiquity M2 Rocket

I just picked up a brand new Ubiquity Rocket M2. I have flashed half a dozen of these with zero issues. This is the first one I have done that was brand new. It had a hard time taking the firmware. I think it's uploaded but when I go to http://localnode.local.mesh:8080 the first AREDN screen only comes up for half a second then goes away.

I have two Rocket Dish RD-5G30 with out radio The radio apears to be $81.00 on amazon and befor i buy the radio would i be any better just getting the Ubiquity PBE-M5-400-iso power beam @ $150.00 ea 

 


would one be better than the other  P2P   7 mile path?

when installing Power Beams on a tower, one north one east one west  on a rohn 25   can you put one on each leg or stack two directly above each other a foot apart with out interference?  what is recomended spacing?

There is a new form design of the HAP ac lite
 the new case is  black and is not square. does not stack easly. Status lights are not easily seen. 
I have programed up three today and they are working flawless. 
 

Rocket M5 Rebooting Issue

I have a mesh node that has been on the air for just over 2 years. Its mounted at the top of a 250' tower and fed with 300 feet of shielded UV rated Ethernet cable, Starting about a month ago I noticed its performance bandwidth is way down and when worked hard it reboots. Doing a "WiFi Scan" it reboots all most every time. The signal levels from the surrounding mesh nodes all report the same as the day this node was installed and SNR is the same, I replaced the power injector with a new one and that made not change.

This managed smart switch, the MikroTik RB260GSP is a 5 port, 4 with passive PoE out.  It works great with AREDN, and can be configured with VLANS as needed to tunnel, DTD, or whatever you need via their simplfied SwOS (much easier than their typical RouterOS software).  I just noticed that there is a seller on ebay selling these starting at $25 ea.  I'm bidding on one of them, but there are 7 others that are fully functional at that price, plus a few more with a few ports not working.  For anyone looking for a cheap, fully functional, switch, I'd get one or two.  Also, they can be powered
