meshchat 1.0 question

(Disregard, found my issue) - too many service advertisements!)

In my qth I have a pi connected to a node inside the shack via ethernet. I'm connecting that to a node outside via RF.  Should there be any problem with running meshchat on the pi as well as BOTH nodes?   I upgraded to 1.0 (on the pi and both nodes), followed instrux to the best of my knowledge, and the node inside the shack advertises "MeshChat-4849". I change it but it doesn't stick - and so it's not communicating correctly to the mesh.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Patrick

Motorola MLC 8000 Conventional Comparator Interface over MESH

Has anyone successfully been able to link a pair of Motorola MLC 8000 Comparators over an AREDN MESH network?  My unit and other devices on the far end are on 10.246.8.240 and 10.246.8.71 : I am able to configure my AirRouter at the equipment site using NAT and can access (ping) the devices locally, but I cant even access the AirRouter on 10.246.8.100 (Addy that I picked) over the network.

Suggestions?

AREDN node API?

Is there a programmatic way to DL all the nodes in the AREDN map (which I'm assuming is the source of truth)?
This is for a node pointing app I'm writing on iOS that'll allow you to use your phone to locate and point your antenna very accurately at another node.
Thanks.

MeshChat - minor enhancement.

A few months ago I requested an enhancement to allow Ctl-Enter to be used instead of having to click on the SEND radio button.  It was promptly implemented (thanks!)

But nobody knows it's available.  Suggest putting text  "Ctl-Enter = SEND"  directly to the right of the SEND radio button.

Thanks.

iperfspeed v0.2

I've made a web interface for using iperf to test link speeds on the mesh. Just trying this out to see how well it works. You need to install it on at least 2 nodes on your mesh. Then use the ui at http://<node>:8080/iperfspeed to run a speed test. It will login to the server node and start iperf as the server, then login to the client and run iperf against the server for 10 seconds and record the result. See screen shot below.

videochat v0.1b1

Ok here is a rough version of video chat. I'm using EasyRTC and there are not a lot of callbacks to provide status to the user. It seems to work fine for me locally, but is spotty over our mesh. You must use Firefox only on a desktop machine for this version. You just login with your call sign and click on a user to chat to and it will automatically connect you.

QoS

Forums:
How are the QoS settings to be set at the gateway ISP routers so as the AREDN system does not become an ISP for HAMs?

Hi I’m Trevor K7FPV.

EComms Chat Server and VoIP net

We are growing a new chat server in the Inland Empire that is quite robust. Currently it is running on a Linux quad core blade server at a hardened repeater site. The server allows for private chat rooms as well as public forums. Come by and check it out. If you would like to use it for your CERT Team or other comms groups set up a room and start testing. Currently on Monday nights at 8:00 PM we are running a VoIP/Chat net using the Town Square group on this server as well as the VoIP conference bridge at (909) 7099 password 1234. Join us.

PI MeshChat Files - sorting

MeshChat running on a Raspberry Pi (RPI) can have many files in the Files section that users can see and download.  For me, I wanted to do a alphanumeric sort based on the file names but that is not part of the MeshChat application as it nicely puts the file listing in order of first-to-last stored.  I made a work-around that can be used.  It is a bash script that the RPI sysop can run to change all the date-stamps for the files.
