Connecting to Verdugo in Burbank

Greeting!

I am located in Burbank and I'm working to hookup to existing mesh network up on Verdugo.

I have a Ubiquiti RocketM5 (XW) (with Omni AMO-5G10) and a Nanostation Loco M5 (XW).

I have installed aredn (aredn-3.19.3.0-ubnt-rocket-m-xw-factory.bin) and was able to configure and have the 2 devices talk to each other at 30ft distance for testing.

I am attempting to connect to the the Verdugo nodes:
* WD6EBY-LA-Verdugo-S-Sector-5G - Ch: 179 - BW: 10
* WD6EBY-LA-Verdugo-W-Sector-5G - Ch: 174 - BW: 10

New node above Sierra Madre

On August 8th we installed a new 5GHz AREDN node above Sierra Madre in Bailey Canyon. It is a little higher up than what is shown on the AREDN live map. It is on channel 168, 10MHz bandwidth. The purpose is to cover the area of the San Gabriel Valley that can't hit the MT Wilson node because it is in the shadow of Mt. Harvard. The node was put in as part fo an Eagle Scout project from a local Boy Scout troop and has been almost two years in planning, raising funds, and to get all the necessary approvals.

Node(s) on Mt. Otay

Does anyone know if there are any plans to re-start/re-initialize any nodes on Mt. Otay?  I know previously there was one there.

Missing Nodes

I remember there being nodes on Pleasants Pk, Santiago Pk, and Elsinore Pk. They are all missing from the map now.

The PAPA System has been approached by a group in Laguna Niguel about hosting an AREDN node on Santiago.

Have your (AREDN's) nodes been removed? Or, are they just missing from the map? Is AREDN interested in returning to these sites?

The PAPA System has partnered with AREDN at other sites, but we don't have the internal experience to sponsor nodes on our own.

Thanks in advance,

Michael AF6FB
