Campbell AREDN users (South Bay SF Bay Area)

Forums:

Any other AREDN fans in the South Bay (Campbell) area?

(I saw the AREDN group at SCaLE17x but didn't get to chat much, as I was working in the ITDRC booth at the other end of the hall)

New user in San Jose CM97bg looking to connect

Forums:

I am a new user in San Jose, CA. (CM97bg) looking to connect with both the AREDN community and the network.

I have a Ubiquiti NanoStation M5 NSM5 arriving in a few days but am not sure that there is anything to connect it to.

Free to a good home

I have a bunch of Ubiquiti gear that I used to provide internet service in the desert during various races. I have an M5 rocket with a sector antenna, some nodes as well as some grids. Each has a Netgear ProSafe GS105E switch along with boost converters and POE pigtails that made 24vdc from 12vdc to power the Ubiquity gear. I have a USG and I think I may even have the LTE modem I used to jump into the internet.

You pick it up and it is all yours. Trying to keep it out of the e-waste stream. I can't figure put how to post pictures, contact me direct if you want photos.

Connecting to Verdugo in Burbank

Greeting!

I am located in Burbank and I'm working to hookup to existing mesh network up on Verdugo.

I have a Ubiquiti RocketM5 (XW) (with Omni AMO-5G10) and a Nanostation Loco M5 (XW).

I have installed aredn (aredn-3.19.3.0-ubnt-rocket-m-xw-factory.bin) and was able to configure and have the 2 devices talk to each other at 30ft distance for testing.

I am attempting to connect to the the Verdugo nodes:
* WD6EBY-LA-Verdugo-S-Sector-5G - Ch: 179 - BW: 10
* WD6EBY-LA-Verdugo-W-Sector-5G - Ch: 174 - BW: 10

KK6NHN in EDH working to expand Sacramento regional coverage

Forums:
Hey all,

I'm looking to help start expanding Sacramento regional coverage. I've been in touch with KQ6EO to look into linking up on RF with his node in Citrus Heights, but I'm also looking to consider blanketing Folsom from my QTH here on the hill in EDH. If anyone else wants to link up on RF, please reply here and let's discuss.

Best,
Kevin

Post by WL7COO - AirLink has proven to be very valuable in combination

Dan, WL7COO, posted this elsewhere, but it is specifically relevant to the San Joaquin Valley sub-forum:

AirLink has proven to be very valuable in combination with Google Earth Pro.

It looks like MAARO will be able to learn, test, train and demonstrate AREDN with an investment initially comprised of a single NanoStation on Big Bullion at 33' AGL, a single NanoStation on a Mobile Portable 40' push up mast and several smaller NanoStation go-box kits with parking lot or roof top deployable 10' masts.
