Greetings to the list. Before I submit a report, I want to make sure that I did not do something wrong.
I am working with a used NBrM5 that had Ubiquiti 6.04 XM firmware. It gave a Bad-Good Uboot result. The instructions on the software page show 4 links. 2 are for v5.5 and 2 are for v5.6. But I could not spot anything that explains when to use 5.6 and when to use 5.5. I selected the one for v5.5 XM. When I flashed it, it seemed to go fine and passed the Uboot test with Good-Good. When it boots up, it displays the !!!! UNTESTED HARDWARE !!!! message. Everything else works fine. Should I have flashed v5.6 first, then v5.5? Did I miss those instructions somewhere? What is the best way to recover from this condition?
Thanks. Rick (VE3CVG)
on that node, can you browse to http://localnode:8080/cgi-bin/sysinfo.json and post what is returned as the "board_id"? (ie. 0xe5ee or something like that)
I had to leave off the .jason extension and just went to sysinfo
It shows a boardid of
0xe235
a line or 2 above that it says it is Ubiquiti Bullet M
Rick
it was .json not .jason
What version of AREDN are you running?
The NBrM5 shows 3.16.1.1
Darryl, btw sorry but if I include the .json extension ... it does not work. It has to be just localnode:8080/cgi-bin/sysinfo then I get a nice neatly formatted text page of technical info.
Just out of curiosity i tried chrome and IE - similar result.
Thanks.
Rick
I see that the frequencies are down around 5.4GHz.
Support file attached. Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

I'll try again. Here is the support file.
VE3CVG, our bad. This device is not correctly configured in the nightly build images. We should be able to correct this shortly, I just checked in a fix.

Thank you very much Joe!!! Glad you were able to confirm it. Will I hear again, or what should my procedure be to correct my NBrM5? 73 Rick VE3CVG
Rick, Check back later today for the nightly builds, there should be a new build posted with this fix, probably sometime after 4:30PM PDT.
Nightly builds don't start building until after 0800 UTC, perhaps you meant sometime after 4:30 AM PDT ?
Hi again Joe and everyone,
On old NBrM5 (XM) number 1, that already had 3.16.1.1, and the 'New Hardware' banner, I loaded the 'system upgrade' (develop-171-69937359) from last night's build and all appears fine. I noticed that it has a distance slider.
On old NBrM5 (XM) number 2, that still had ubiquiti 6.04, I first downgraded to XM 5.5.11 then loaded the factory upgrade (develop-171-69937359) from last night's build. It did not automatically restart in the browser. After a manual start, It appears fine but does not have a distance slider. It uses a fill-in box.
Neither device displays the 'New Hardware' banner.
Thanks very much! I think we are good.

Rick, note, it is no longer required, with the nightly build images, to downgrade AirOS. This images will 'tftp' on top of any AirOS version the device was received with (as of today). The images can be uploaded in some AirOS versions in the UI--the newer versions block and require an image signature.
Attempting to load 3.16.1.1 or prior AREDN images will require the AirOS downgrade proceedure to ensure there is a compatible bootloader on the device.

Slider became a box so now they are identical.
Thanks
