Oklahoma AREDN
Anyone interested in AREDN? If you are, please reply to this post and let's get something going. I have a node up in OKC and to my knowledge it's the first one. I have some ideas and have done some research but we need to get together and discuss what needs to be done.

I would say you probably are
I would say you probably are the first!

I spent a good number of weeks in OKC late last year, didn't take a node with me however since I couldn't find anyone else who had mesh there.

Congratulation on starting up a mesh!

Thanks, I have been
Thanks, I have been researching this subject for weeks, trying to learn as much as I can. I am a network engineer so I understand that part very well. I have a Nanostation M2 and as soon as I get my airRouter Friday, that will be up also. I would like to run the Tunnel client so I can maybe connect to someone else a get a good idea of what's happening. I have acquired two Bullet M2's and plan to find a home for them. I have several friends that have high places to pur the Bullets but have not had a chance to run the paths yet. I might be asking some questions in the coming weeks if you don't mind.

Thanks

Duane

AREDN nodes in Oklahoma City

Currently there are three nodes in Oklahoma City. I have two nodes and WD5G has one. My Airrouter is running Meshchat, Winlink, a webserver, IP camera and an Openspot. I also have a Nanostation up at 35 feet. WD5G has an Airrouter tunneled to me. For more information, please contact me at aa5kd@arrl.net.

I am currently slated to be
I am currently slated to be back in Oklahoma City on July 10th-14th if there are any questions or a group of people who want to get together and discuss mesh. I can't provide too much info on your local group but can provide an overall mesh knowledge and provide significant technical info.

Tulsa County Setup
Two of us here in Tulsa county are trying to get this going..

Currently we have two Bullet M2 and one Nanobridge M2 for testing - I'm working on making one Bullet a gateway and the other a node as I type this so that I can test coverage and produce a map as proof of concept to the very skeptical local ham community (they tried with the original WRT gear and got frustrated that it didn't go more than 10 metres).

Hopefully I can get this first step running without having to ask for too much help and then it will explode from there..

AREDN Nodes
My name is Duane and my call is AA5KD. I have several nodes running in OKC. We can set up an internet tunnel between us to test your stuff if you like. I will need the name of your node and we can be connected. If your interested, reply to this message.

OKC Backbone

We have our first OKC backbone node up on the Sandridge building southeast corner pointing southeast. I can see it from my QTH but two-way comm is not working. Norman should be putting a node on soon. If you would like more info you can email me @ dangles1@cox.net or reply to this post.

Duane,

Duane,
I have some radios I am working on, how are things for going north. I have two LDF 5's' that I bought to link my DMR repeater once I find a place to put it. At present it is at home. I am still battling with the LDF5 radios, they are linked but not passing IP addresses. We need to get a node going in Edmond.

Back into it after a long absence
Unfortunately life took me away from this project for a little while. I'm spending today trying to get the two bullets working properly, I did an upgrade and then they stopped communicating over ethernet, and I now have a nanostation working as well plus an edgerouter on the pile. I may need a little help along the way but I hope to have at least one RF unit up on the mast if all this time next week. Hopefully somebody will also allow me some tunnel connections that I can use for demonstration.

Finally!!

Oklahoma City finally has a good start on an AREDN mesh. We have three radios on the top of the Sandridge building @ 393 feet. One radio is a Rocket M5 with a 120 degree sector antenna pointed north, a Lightbeam M5 pointed south and a Rocket M5 with a 120 degree sector antenna pointed southeast. The south radio is connected to N5HZR in Norman, the southeast radio is connected to AA5KD in southeast OKC. There are no connections to the north as of yet but the Oklahoma County EOC will connect soon. We have come a long way in 5 years and things will only get better. We have a plan and it is progressing finally. If you are interested in AREDN, please let me know.

Now we have a North AREDN node
On 26 Aug 22 I installed the radio on my tower and brought up a link from my location 9.8 miles north of Sandridge. Now we need some more users and node locations in N OKC and Edmond, or anywhere for that much.

Local Tunnel
Hi, would you be able to provide a tunnel into the network? I recently moved to Lawton and the network basically doesn't exist. I want to demonstrate to the locals the capabilities of AREDN to get them on board, especially with us starting the ARES program here back up (I was told it hasn't been a thing, CERT took priority). If you can give me a tunnel into it, I am looking into adding more equipment for myself so I can present it to the local club here.

Would like to build a new node
Hi,  I'd like to build a new with Weather camera and weather station at the TORKS RC field on the south side of Lake Healfner.
TORKS has room for a tower and solar power.
What do you guys think?
