Does anyone know why nodes drop off the world map that were there before. I noticed that all the Boise area nodes as well as my nodes that are tunneled there have disapeared off the map?

It appears that AREDN World Map locations do not change very often. This may be related to how nodes that are no longer active remain on the map for a while. Upshot is that you should be very sure that you have the exact lat-long (0.000 01 degree of latitude is about 3.7 ft) for your node before you are connected to the Supernode network where the Mapper will find you.
The tool in the New UI is great for this. You click the location window in the lower left corner of the Status screen. If your node has access to Internet, a mapping window will open. You can zoom in to see the rooms of your house. Then position the crosshairs at the point where the node will be. Then save that location.
It is the same way with node names. If you change the name of a node after it is on the Map, it may take days for the Map to reflect the change. Just be patient.
