Hi all,
I've been trying to flash AREDN firmware to a PBE-5AC-Gen2 and coming up against a brick wall.
I downgraded Ubiquiti FW to V8.7.4 as it wouldn't accept V8.7.0.
I set the username and password.
Transferred the latest AREDN firmware using WinSCP and renamed factory.bin in the /tmp/ directory.
SSH in and copy the code blocks exactly from the installation instructions.
Progress goes absolutely fine, the last line seen in the command line is 'DONE'
Device reboots, never appears on the network. I've scanned the entire 192.168.1.XXX subnet, been looking for any packets with Wireshark and see nothing at all. The PBE is powered, network activity light flashes when broadcasting for IP scan, but never appears on the network interface.
I've tried this multiple times, having to recover the device using TFTP and Ubiquiti firmware, starting the process from scratch.
I've done the same procedure (exactly the same steps) using a Nanobeam 5AC Gen2 and it flashed perfectly first time, and is all set up and running.
I have no idea what could be going wrong, has anyone else experienced this?

If the firmware upgrade fails first time around, you must replace the Ubiquiti firmware at a more recent version than V8.7.4 (Via TFTP)
I then downgraded to V8.7.4 using the Ubiquiti web interface. Followed the rest of the steps in the AREDN instructions, and it worked perfectly.
If you fail, don't install V8.7.4 directly via TFTP, it must be done using the web interface. Not sure why, just one of those quirks!
