Tube AHM flashing "invalid firmware image content"
Hello

I am trying to install the nightly on my new alfa tube-ah POE.

I keep on getting
"invalid firmware image content"

Im using
aredn-babel-20251018-4b1eff98-ramips-mt76x8-alfa-network_tube-ahm-r0c-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

one thing is that the firmware that the unit came with does not have (per the aredn documentation)

Navigate to System > Backup/Flash Firmware and go to Flash new firmware image

The only place i found was under the top right "admin", "system upgrade", and then it asks to drag the firmware you want to flash

The unit came like this from rockland
Model name: ALFA Network AHM27282U
Firmware Version: V1.3

Any thoughts?

ALFA Tube
The ALFA Tube-AH isn't supported by AREDN.  It's the ALFA model Tube-AHM that is.

Hello,
My Alfa Tube AHM just arrived,  what's the default password to get into the factory setup systems so I can flash?>
Thanks
Carl

flash worked (?) but can't connect Tube-AHM
Team,
Couple of items:

1) Factory screen I get when starting up, is Morse Micro, with their logos "Mu".   login is admin/admin

FYI, here's the factory information:  Linus kernal 5.15.150.     OpenWRT   v23.05.3

I flashed the AREDN firmware, "...alfa-network_tube-ahm-r0c..."

Lights come on, I'm assigned IP address, router is 192.168.1.1, domain is "local.mesh"    (Factory domain is 'lan')

Unable to access the AREDN config page at 192.168.1.1, or with localnode.local.mesh.   Same behavior after flashing two Tubes.
I'm thinking the flash worked.  DHCP is running.  domain is changed from factory.
Attempt to connect with SSH, connection refused

Ideas?

ALFA Hardware
I had a similar problem that turned out to be that ALFA had changed the board ID.  Recommend you open an Incident on the AREDN GitHub page.  Just follow the instructions for submittal.   That's the best way to get the developers' attention.

Also - can you telnet to the device?

Good day ... I'm curious how
Good day ... I'm curious how the testing of the ALFA model Tube-AHM is going?  Is it working and stable, and does it punch through trees short distance?

Tube testing
We did some testing a week or so ago.  Results were not real consistent, so will be doing some more testing. But it did work well through trees at almost a mile and got good throughput, using horizontally polarized 7 element Yagis at both ends.
We also did some LOS testing at 6+ miles and results weren't as good as I had hoped, although it did link up and pass data with some of the narrower bandwidths.
