Tunnel packages nightly built 825
After updating recently I went to reactive my tunnels, found tunnel software not installed, clicked on install and error returned:

ERROR:
Package update failed!

Restarted multiple times, and same issues.
WAN port is connected to my him network which has internet

Ideas?

Tunnel Package update failed!

In the Advanced settings to the right of
aredn.@downloads[0].pkgs_arednpackages
should be
http://downloads.arednmesh.org/releases/3/22/3.22.1.0/packages/mips_24kc/arednpackages .
If not click 'Set to Default', then 'Save Setting'.
If those values are already present, then from a computer with a LAN address from the node in question:

If Mac, linux, android:
ping -c 1 downloads.arednmesh.org
or
traceroute downloads.arednmesh.org

If Windows
ping -n 1 downloads.arednmesh.org
or
tracert downloads.arednmesh.org
will illuminate the issue.

I hope this helps,
Chuck

Under my 'Administration' I have 'Firmware Update', but no other 'update'. ?

Sorry meant refresh

There are 2 'Refresh's

There is a 'Firmware Update' 'Refresh' and
there is a 'Package Management' 'Refresh'.
Which one did you do or did you do both?
After clicking each, there should be a page update indicating success or failure of the 'Refresh'.
What do you see?

"Ok so I updated that link to the one above... failed again"

Did you 'update' 'aredn.@downloads[0].firmwarepath' by clicking 'Set to Default', then clicking 'Save Setting' or
did you edit the value by your keyboard?
If by keyboard, there may be a typo.

I hope this helps,
Chuck

Hi Chuck further info:
Hi Chuck further info:

My laptop on my house wifi - can ping ping -c 1 downloads.arednmesh.org, however when connected to my aredn node wifi access, I can not. I can not ping google.com from within the aredn network too.

I have just moved into a new house on a full ubiquity setup. Is my node being blocked via the home wifi to access the internet?

Hi, Wade:

Before we go further, Nightly 847 is current, so you cannot install the tunnel onto Nightly 825 via the GUI pages.

Regarding attached images. I usually edit my screen size so that the important part is large.
The process of attaching an image on this forum automagically reduces the image to <= 600x600, so
I reduce the image locally then if the image still conveys the important part, I then attach the resized image.

I have no clue what a 'full ubiquity setup' is, so
do you have a VLAN switch so that your node(s) at home have WAN access to the internet?

The tunnel ipk and its 3 required ipks may be installed manually, but this may be covered later if needed.

I hope this helps,

update
So the node I want to connect to WAN is a GLi750, with a cable to the WAN port.

I can access the node via a LAN IP but the node still can not connect to the internet via my home network.

GL-iNet-AR750: Connecting to WAN/Internet
 node: NC8Q-AR750-PBX
model: GL.iNet GL-AR750

 Hi, Wade:
Here is an image(lower) of my /status page showing my '750's WAN port with an IP address from my home LAN.
My home LAN is 192.168.8.x and its WAN is internet.

So, I have a cable from the 750's WAN port to a switch on my home LAN.

As pictured(upper), the ports are. left to right, WAN, DtD, LAN.
The left ethernet cable, identified with black tape, is the 750's WAN port, which
goes to a LAN port on my home LAN.

I hope this helps,
Chuck

I won't go into it, but a quirk of my home network - was entirely my fault nothing that will effect other users.

Sorry for the time wasting.
