M2 Tunnel Client

Hello to the group,

I am working to set up a tunnel client on a Ubiquity M2  we just installed. The firmware version is 3.20.3.1

When I navigate to install the tunnel client package here

Tunnel software needs to be installed.

It gives me the following message

ERROR:
Insuffient free disk space!

Tunnel software needs to be installed.

When I navigate back to check the memory this is what it lists

free space
flash = 504 KB
/tmp = 29768 KB
memory = 44552 KB

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

tunnel client on a Ubiquity M2 we just installed

Hi, Andy:

By virtue of your 'memory' value, your M2 appears to be a 64 MB device. That is good.

I am baffled by the insufficient disk space message.

Try to do the tunnel firmware install as soon as practical after a reboot.
The device must have internet access to d/l the tunnel firmware.
Although, I would assume that if you are installing a tunnel client, your device would already have internet access via a VLAN switch. :-|

 Here is an image of my M2-XW's 'free space' values.
My tunnel server has 10 clients configured; 6 clients active and 4 'standby'.

Hope this helps. Chuck

Possibly there are already
Possibly there are already other add-on packages installed?   When a package is installed, it checks if the raw flash space is available and with only 8M of flash total, the space is tight.   There may not be room to install al the packages and add-ons desired.   When a package is installed to flash, it is actually a compressed overlay, so the check is higher than the space consumed...

Joe,
Joe,

I tried Chucks recommendation of doing the tunnel client install right after a reboot with no joy. To follow up with your comment I have not tried to install any other services on this device. Its only a couple months old straight out of the box.

What is the next play?

KF7VOL, please capture a
KF7VOL, please capture a support data file, link at the bottom of the administration page.   This will provide the data to compare with other devices of the same model.  We'll be able to do the math of the flash size and see what is going on.   wild speculation, a given device could have less flash space if any NOR blocks have been marked bad and taken out of use.

Just to give an update.
Just to give an update.

I did a firmware upgrade on the device. Once that was done the new tunnel client downloaded like butter!

One more item off the list!
