Seeking Birds of a Feather for AREDN Deployment

To my Suffolk County, New York HAMS

My name Gary, KE2GS.    I am a Senior Technology Engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island, New York.   My background is mostly in UNIX/Linux but I have a working knowledge in communications.

There seems to be mesh nodes popping up here and there but there does not seem to be any county wide coordination.  If there is, I would like to participate, if not, I would like to begin the dialog.

WNY AREDN Initiative

Greetings WNY HAMS!

My name is Sean (K2HAK) and while I'm a relatively new HAM operator, I'm interested in getting some AREDN nodes deployed throughout the Western New York region and need your help!

My background is in IT, specifically information security with interest in network design and architecture, so naturally mesh networking over amateur radio is right in my wheelhouse. I'm hoping there is interest in a collaborative effort to get AREDN going in our region.

WNY Interest

The other person hasn't gotten back to me yet so if there are any folks in WNY who might be interested in talking about AREDN mesh I'm willing.

I'm currently testing two CPE-210 units right now.  I'll have another item in tomorrow hopefully which will give me another node and also connection to the internet.  I have much to learn but I am willing to learn and experiment as time and life permits these days.

WNY tunnels

Hello, Not a lot posts here in the WNY forum, or NY forum for that matter, but hey got to start somewhere.
This is Steve KE2AIO located in the Southtowns of Buffalo.
Just getting up on AREDN, looking to learn and hopefully convince a few of my very local ham friends to explore AREDN over RF links.
I have the Microtik hAP AC lite router flashed and running, with WAN access to get started.
I'm reading to get on the AREDN world map, you need an RF link or a tunnel.
