Tennessee Regional Forum

Forums:
Welcome to the AREDN Tennessee Regional Forum!  This area can be used to discuss deployments throughout the State of Tennessee.  Our MESH efforts in Middle Tennessee began September 2014 with establishment of sites in Gallatin, LaVergne and Smyrna.  They have since been expanded to Woodbury (Short Mountain) and Nashville.  We are currently building out our system with backup paths for reliability.  Although still in the early stages, we have 5 Winlink Post Office nodes available on our MESH system.

TEMA AUXCOMM FALL 2016 EXERCISE DATE SET - OCTOBER 22, 2106

Forums:
The TEMA AUXCOMM Fall Exercise is set for Saturday, October 22, 2016.  We will be furthering our usage of the MTEARS/SOUTHMESH network utilizing IP Phones, WINLINK Post Office and possible repeater linking projects utilizing the AREDN Firmware.  We will continue to increase our RF footprint statewide as we move forward.  If anyone in Tennessee is interested in getting your own local MESH network up and running and need assistance, feel free to contact me.

Our First Tennessee Universities also on the AIR

Forums:
I was just thinking that I didn't want to trivialize our existing installations at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as well as Lipscomb University in Nashville.  These installations are well established and have been on the air since March 2016, but we haven't involved these in any educational programs as of yet.

Our First Tennessee High School is on the AIR!

Thanks to Freddy W4WFC and Jeff KG4IKT, we now have our first educational facility on the air!  Cannon Co. High School in Woodbury TN has a 5Ghz Nanstation M5 XW shooting 5.5 Miles to our Short Mountain site with a great signal -72/-95/23 db and 24.3 MBps @ 10Mhz bandwidth.  There may be a little antenna aiming yet to be done, but it is a great start.  Just discussing with Freddy, now that we got it...
