New AREDN mesh in Hillsboro, Oregon

Forums:
The Oregon site Intel Emergency Amateur Radio Service (IEARS) team is about halfway through development and deployment of an AREDN mesh network at the four main Intel Corporation campuses in the Hillsboro and Aloha, Oregon communities.

This mesh network consists of a combination of Ubiquiti Rocket M3's, NanoStation M3's, and NanoBridge M3 tying the Aloha, Ronler Acres, Jones Farm, and Hawthorn Farm campus Emergency Operations Centers together.  Resources include a MeshChat server and Winlink RMS gateway.  We hope to add some form of VoIP telephony as well.

Mesh success in Salem, OR

Forums:

We now have a functioning four node AREDN mesh network in Salem, Oregon.
We added a Rocket M5 120 19 dBi sector to our repeater tower at
1800 feet which ties into another opposing Rocket M5 sector, a PowerBeam M5 300
and a Rocket M5 Omni 13. 3 nodes have NetGear GS108E VLan switches and WLAN connections. See AREDN map.
We have a Citadel BBS/email service running on a Raspberry Pi 2B for Mesh use.
All nodes are running iperfspeed as we test throughput, adjust aim, and find new station locations
At 22 miles we get 2.5- 3 Mbps on iperfspeed.

Automated Mesh Mapper Server for Salem, Florence, and Dundee

Forums:
We are pleased to announce that one of our members Richard, K9RCP has successfully programmed and deployed the KG6WXC Automated Mesh Mapper for our AREDN network in Oregon.
It is a great tool for monitoring our network.
Here is a link to his web page so it can be viewed outside of the mesh:

Bringing AREDN to Central Oregon

Forums:
Hi guys,

We have a growing community of hams here in Central Oregon that are itching to get HamWAN going in our area!  Currently, I'm thinking that AREDN is going to be the best option for us here given everything that we might want or need to do with it.   Some of that includes linking our repeater sites via mesh, providing Internet (or private networking) at our repeater sites, remote control, etc, in addition to a potential MetroWAN via mesh.  The possibilities are positively intriguing!!
