Ubiquiti Powerbeam 5AC Gen2 w/3.23.4.0 gets Bad Gateway when trying to enter Setup
I am trying to convert a Ubiquiti Powerbeam 5AC Gen2 to AREDN.  Since the unit came from the factory with version 8.7.1 firmware, I started by backing that down to version 8.7.0.

I found the appropriate firmware image by entering "powerbeam 5ac gen2" in the firmware search tool, downloaded the factory .bin file (aredn-3.23.4.0-ath79-generic-ubnt_powerbeam-5ac-gen2-squashfs-factory.bin), then followed the instructions to install it using ssh and scp on my Windows host.

Unfortunately I'm getting the "Unsupported Device!" warning on the initial NOCALL localnode.local.mesh webpage, and when I try to go into Setup, I get the now-infamous "Bad Gateway" error message.  I have tried running my browser in incognito mode to try to get further with no improvement.

Any suggestion on how to resolve this?  I have attached the supporttool dump file.

Thank you and 73s,
Collier

Adding info from clicking on Unsupported Device banner
Added a printout of the screen displayed when I click on the "Unsupported Device" banner.

Disregard - Got it working
I followed the very excellent instructions on using SCP and SSH to update to the latest nightly build sysupgrade .bin file and got my Powerbeam working--including getting into the Setup menu.  Was getting a bit trying for a while.

Thank you and 73s,

POWERBEAM PBE 5AC Gen 2
HI all. Just flashed a POWER BEAM AC Gen 2 with the AREDN Firmware according to the description iin the docs: downgrade to Version 8.7.0 i went trough the installation process step by step. sch /ssh/ hexdump an so on. Finally the Node boots and i am able to see the entry screen of the aredn firmware. After clicking on setup root / hsmm / i do get the message bad gateway. According to Colliers response he was able to load the latest nightly on it an it worked. But how can i load the the nightly, with out having the original ubiquity firmware on it? To connect the node according to the description its not possible anymore. the pw from the first setup is not working anymore. Any suggestions? Regards ALEX, HB9FND

SUCCESS
Hello, was able to TFTP the Ubiquiti Version 8.7.0 and started the flashing with the nightly Version. So this works fine now. Regards Alex
