Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5 XW - anybody ?
Hi,
anybody out there using a  Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5 XW,  who could successfully flash it to the latest nightly?
I get a "boot loop" at 192.168.1.1
Thanks.

Re: Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5 XW - anybody ?
Hi,

Flashing works but the Litebeam M5 XW stays stuck in an infinite firstboot loop as you indicated. It does not save the callsign and nodename permanently to the serial / SPI flash chip before reboot.  The issue is the AREDN firmwares after 3.22.12.0 do mount the filesystem in temporary RAM without mapping any settings back to the flash memory.  This may be due to a chip r/w unlock issue, a r/w timing issue, and/or a flash partition issue, issues that are still in the new firmware almost 4 years later.

Previous releases until 3.22.12.0 worked fine, no issues with the flash memory chip.  Reverting from 4.26.x.x to 3.22.12.0 works but is useless in areas such as SF Bay Area where AREDN is using backward-incompatible settings for routing, topology, etc.

When I look in the supported device list Litebeam M5 (XW in firmware name) is shown as "untested" and the software page says this means it may or may not work.  Looks like you are testing it.   Ed
