UPDATE: I uploaded OpenWRT and the 710 appeared to be bricked. OpenWRT's install instructions for the 710 are incorrect, there is no access to u-boot n the device without cracking open the case to try, but after power cycling one more time the device came up in OpenWRT on 192.168.1.1. OpenWRT didn't meet my expectations, so I went back to AREDN on the device, especially since there are issues with more recent versions of LTLink's Pharos OS modifying the bootloader so it will only load TPLink-signed software. I was unable to revert to AREDN by uploading the AREDN image to OpenWRT but I was able to upload AREDN using the existing bootloader (luckily it was intact) and TFTP. So now the 710 is back on AREDN where it shall remain.
I have AREDN running on a TPLink CPE710. I'd like to "sidegrade" it to OpenWRT (or even revert it to the TPELink "Pharos" software) for general home use but as of AREDN 4.26.7.0 after I up load a .bin file, the "fetch and Install" process fails without installing anything. IIRC this used to work in AREDN 3.X.
Is there any way to "sidegrade" OpenWRT or do I need to set up BOOTP and TFTP again?
