Is the Rocket M900 supported?
Hi all,

I could have sworn I read a recent post (that I now can't find) that stated the Rocket M900 is not useful since it won't transmit on/is not close enough to Amateur Radio 900 MHz frequencies after the firmware upgrade.  The Rocket M9 will work, however.

In the DOWNLOAD section, I see firmware for the M9, not the M900.

Twice I've tried to order from Amazon the Rocket M9 - and it's listed as the Rocket M9 with different order numbers - only to receive a Rocket M900.  Heck, the prices were even different! (Yeah, it's possible Amazon just sent the wrong one.)

CDW sells a Rocket M9.  I even asked their online tech support.  They call it a M9, NOT a M900.

Before I send the Rocket M900s back - and order what SHOULD BE the Rocket M9, is this even necessary?  Will the CURRENT Rocket M900 - the one I have has a manufacture date of 10/2019 - work properly?

Thanks!

M3 vs M365
I think you might be confusing the M900 with the M3. The M3 is supported, while the M365 is not. M9 is just a shortening of the M900 model name, to more closely match the M2 or M5 names.

Hi all,
Hi all,

So I finally got my Rocket M900s installed with the current firmware 3.20.3.0.

I'm able to set the password, node name, and channel (listed in MHz, however).  I am not able to set the power level or location.  Every time I hit "Apply" (on power) or "Apply Location Settings," I receive a "lost connection error."  I get the same error if I click on Reboot.

I reinstalled the firmware, yet the same errors occur after I connect to the unit and try to update the power/location settings.

Anyone else experience these issues?

Thanks.

set the password, node name, and channel

Please correct me if I am guessing wrong.
You have just loaded aredn-3.20.3.0-ath79-ubnt_rocket-m-factory.bin on your Rocket-M9 and
you only have set the Node Name, password, distance to furthest node, and rebooted.
After reboot, then you cannot set power settings et cetera?

Hi Chuck,
Hi Chuck,

Yeah, pretty much. :-(

Well, it all works now.
Well, it all works now.

Essentially, I started from scratch.

I downloaded a fresh copy of the current firmware to a different machine.  I reset the M900 and installed the latets firmware again.

And now it's fine.

Maybe something got corrupted along the way.

Anyway, all set!

Thanks.

Joe
